On Saturday Santa himself paid an unexpected visit to guests at Cave House when staff member Jacob designed to go to extra lengths to entertain the children. Despite the widespread road closures, Mr Mills said staff had to field many phone calls from people outside the region who were keen to find a way in to check out the snow. In his 14 years of work at the site, Mr Mills cannot remember another time that so many people had been trapped there for so long due to the weather.

By 2pm on Monday an alpine alert remained in place for roads around Jenolan Caves with motorists urged to reduce their speed and drive to the conditions.

Home News Local News. The closures left 90 guests and 22 staff trapped in a winter wonderland. Nothing was disappointing the whole time we were there. No sense in writing pages and pages of compliments. We're both very glad we chose The Caves, and will go back when Dan gets out of the navy in a few years. Fabulous resort, fabulous staff, fabulous views, fabulous honeymoon!!! My husband and I also spent our honeymoon here this is very delayed, but I just started using tripadvisor and absolutely had to post a review for The Caves.

I can't imagine anywhere else being so perfect for a honeymoon or romantic getaway. The staff is great, the views are spectacular, and the food is delicious. The airline we flew actually lost our luggage and The Caves staff helped tremendously in our recovery of it. It was a wonderful, romantic week that I wish I could do over and over again! My husband and I stayed at the Caves in mid-August. We picked the Caves based, in large part, on the glowing reviews from this site, and we were not disappointed. Our room Butterfly was absolutely gorgeous, the grounds spectacular, and the service stellar.

I'm a vegetarian, and often I have trouble finding good, healthy meals when I travel. This was not the case at the Caves, however - each night I had a meal prepared with delicious local ingredients and even tofu. My husband not a vegetarian also loved the food - from breakfast to dinner, all meals were wonderfuly prepared.

Unfortunately, our travel plans coincided with Dean's - and Dean won. We were supposed to stay at the Caves five nights, but were evacuated to another resort which could not compare to the Caves three days early. We were very disappointed and anxious about the hurricane, but the Caves' staff were fantastic about making sure we were taken care of.

Kevin, the manager of the Caves, took care of making all the arrangements for the transfer to the new hotel, and drove us over himself. Given how much he had on his plate at the time, we really appreciated the consideration. Patrick was equally wonderful - he kept us up-to-date on Dean's status, and was warm and friendly throughout what must have been a very stressful time.

Don't settle for indoors. Go underground.

Even though parts of the trip were stressful as a result of Dean, the time we spent at the Caves was relaxing and wonderful, and the service and management of the property was quite impressive. We are already planning our next visit although not during hurricane season! We highly recommend the Caves. It was beautiful! The servcie is sooo nice, the waitstaff is friendly. The water is beautiful, the food is great Especially breakfast. My husband actually jumped off the cliff outside of the breakfast area! We did the CAVE dining one night and it was beautiful, we also did the private hot tub one day too The outdoor shower in my room was my fav part.

This review is long overdue, but my wife and I spent our honeymoon at the Caves in Jamaica, and had an extraordinary experience. You have to like the all inclusive format, as it is not particularly easy to get out into town although we went one night. But there is really no need to go anywhere else: the food is delicious, the spa, although small, has fabulous therapists, and the mood is extremely romantic. The in-room music selections are a really nice touch.

The vibe is very rustic and laid back. If you are looking for over the top luxury, this is not the place. If you are looking for something unique, romantic and extraordinary, this will work.     Well worth the effort. We will be back with our children in the summer. We toured Marble Arch Caves, which had many interesting features typical of most caves. While here, they take you on a small boat ride along the underground river in the cave. Definitely worth a visit. I live in Galway so the few days before we went here I made sure to keep a eye on the weather as too much ran floods the caves and the boat part of the cave isnt running, great tour loved the boat part, tour guide very nice and full of info, maybe could do with more parking seems very popular attraction alot of walking and steps would return and recommend.
