Then Garrett Frost moves in next door. I recognize the ghosts that haunt him, the torment driving him. Sometimes you meet people who are out of this world, so you make them a part of yours. Older than Dracula: in search of the English vampire

My path takes me far from home and paints me as the black sheep. At odds with my father, I'm determined to build my own empire. I have rules, but Lennix Hunter is the exception to every one of them. From the moment we meet, something sparks between us. But my family stole from hers, and my father is the man she hates most. I lied to have her and will do anything to keep her. Though she tries to hate me, too, the inexorable pull between us will not be denied. And neither will I.

London, Life has been easy for Maxim Trevelyan. Raven and her sister, Cara, are at the mercy of a small detachment of Florentine vampyres who are delivering them as a peace offering to the feared Curia in Rome. Though she's unsure William survived the coup that toppled his principality, Raven is determined to protect her sister at all costs, even if it means challenging Borek, the commander of the detachment.

In an effort to keep Raven from falling into the hands of his enemies, William puts himself at the mercy of the Roman, the dangerous and mysterious vampyre king of Italy.

But the Roman is not what he expects. Alliances and enmities will shift and merge as William struggles to save the woman he loves and his principality without plunging the vampyre population into a world war. This stunning conclusion to the Florentine series will take listeners across Italy and beyond as the lovers fight to remain together Great ending for William and Raven. Even great ending for Gaberiel and Julianne. Listening and Reading at the same time, the printed book was very different from audiobook, phrases changed, some sentences omitted.

Audiobook better. The richness of the literature and history of Florence, Geneva, Prague, and other cities sighted in audiobook was very enjoyable. Love the cariture devolvement as spane over four books, some lovable, some pure evil, some a little of both. A must read.

New narrator was fair needs to know the correct pronunciation of Beatrice. So, I'm not sure why this whole book seems to be read in whispers, like if we had to talk in a library. I found it quite distracting. Also, how the narrator portrays William is a stark contrast to the first two books. I like Robertson Dean narration in other books, but not so much in this one.

I know they are busy narrating other books, but sometimes, especially in trilogies, they should really listen to previous books to get a good foundation to the characters. I loved it. I still feel like there should be more to their story. I hope Sylvain will give us more of William and Raven's story. My emotions were ALL over the place. I'll definitely listen again. I gave an earlier bad review of the narrator at which I am correcting now. I recently very sadly found out that John Michael Morgan, the previous narrator of the Gabriel's Inferno and The Florentine series had passed away before he could narrate The Roman.

I unfairly gave Robertson Dean a bad review simply because he wasn't John Morgan. As I relistened, I began to enjoy listening to him without the irritation I had before. I realized I'd been very unfair. William and Raven find that they have enemies at every turn.

Vampires: Folklore, fantasy and fact - Michael Molina

William seeks the help of his father, and Raven seeks only to secure her sisters safety, she seeks help from the one person she thought would help, only to find that he too would betray both her and William. A real love journey! Such an amazing story. The whole Florentine Series are a most read!!! I loved every single part of this book.. Oh my god. I want more.

  • I want more William and Casita. They need to have the story as the same kind. I can honestly say this how a finale book should be written. I believe all of the major story arcs were concluded. I love that Reynard snuck in little updated on Gabriel and Julia. In my heart, the only detraction was the absence of John Michael Morgan. He has been the voice of Reynard's books since the beginning, and he brought a special snark and elegance that I simply became accustomed to expect.

He really did differentiate his voice between male and female characters. I would definitely look out for other books narrated by Robertson Dean. SR, You are simply marvelous! I couldn't be more happy with the wrap of these series! Thank you for sharing your talent and these phenomenal characters with us. I already miss them! Just fantastic, as is every word Reynard writes. What a riveting story and a grand escape from everyday life.

Reynard weaves an intricate plot with characters the reader comes to care deeply about. He took the story down unexpected paths, and I loved the ending every bit as much as I had dreaded getting to it because that would mean the story was over. And I suppose that's how it should be. The story was perfect, but truly missed was the Outstanding voice of John Michael Morgan, who was the narrator for all of Sylvain's Gabriel's book series, and the first two books of this series, his voice was so rich, and smooth and clear and he became the characters, you didn't feel read to, but involved in a real story happening before your eyes..
