Dietrich had worked with a Catholic Nun from Honolulu to create two religious prints with Saint Damien and Saint Marianne, and Ken and Beate are creating also a wonderful line of religious jewelry inspired by these prints. It was only after several years of a growing reputation that he decided to make his living from the sale of his work, and he has expressed in interviews a deep ambivalence toward being considered a professional artist.
