In this endeavor, she and her brothers rode unbroken horses three miles to their country school.
The sale of broken horses helped get the family through the Great Depression. She began her rodeo career at the age of 13 trouping as a bareback bronc rider. After graduating from high school she contracted to perform at many circuses and rodeos. On July 21, , she married Edwin J. Boysen, bronc rider and steer rider with the Miller show. In this trick the rider leans forward over the horses head. By most accounts, this started as a fortuitous accident when she lost her balance and fell forward.

Hart in She spent her last years with him at a small ranch at Strong City. In addition to her career in the rodeo arena, Margie trained and owned race horses in Arizona and operated a dude ranch at Lake of the Ozarks State Park in Missouri. Her love and care for animals was deep-seated and ever apparent.

Harley Dean Gilbert is the Rodeo Cowboy. He was the younger of two children, his sister Mary being born two years before. His parents ran a Hereford calf-cow operation and farmed hay and grains. Harley attended grade school in Busby. When he was 10 he began breaking horses, starting with one he had raised from its birth. Throughout his youth he broke many more horses and a few Brahma bulls.
He graduated from nearby Longton High School in Though his parents wanted him to stay on the ranch, his dream was to ride bulls. A compromise was reached when he agreed to stay on the ranch during planting and harvest. He became friends with many rodeo greats while commuting to and from rodeos. He was listed as one of the top 15 bull riders in In addition to bull riding, Harley did some steer wrestling and roping. They have 10 grandchildren. In , when his father died, Harley took over the ranch, but continued to rodeo professionally until Though not currently licensed in Nebraska, he has won several races in that State.
Harley continues to ride horses to this day. Dolly warned him against publishing the treatise, and he retreated from a public confrontation. Grey indulged his interest in fishing with visits to Australia and New Zealand. He first visited New Zealand in and caught several large fish of great variety, including a mako shark , a ferocious fighter which presented a new challenge. Grey established a base at Otehei Bay, Urupukapuka Island in the Bay of Islands , which became a destination for the rich and famous. He wrote many articles in international sporting magazines highlighting the uniqueness of New Zealand fishing, which has produced heavy-tackle world records for the major billfish , striped marlin , black marlin, blue marlin and broadbill.
He held numerous world records during this time [64] and invented the teaser, a hookless bait that is still used today to attract fish. Grey made three additional fishing trips to New Zealand.
The second was January to April , the third December to March , and the last from December to February Grey fished out of Wedgeport, Nova Scotia , for many summers. Grey also helped establish deep-sea sport fishing in New South Wales , Australia, particularly in Bermagui , which is famous for marlin fishing.
