Season 5 Recap Season four consisted of 14 episodes that aired during the summer of Then, in December, they aired a two hour movie set right before Christmas.

While it took place several months removed from the rest of the series, it did manage to advance quite a few of the storylines that were left hanging when the summer run ended. And all sixteen hours are included in this set in their native widescreen and full surround on four discs. Ultimately, I just find Royal Pains fun with characters I absolutely love. The relationship between each one is honest and refreshing! I love Hank and who would not want a Doctor like Hank. Divya is such a strong woman character and at the end of season 3 we find she is willing to be true to her self and not go thorough with her arranged marriage. This season starts off with the brothers at odds and Divya trying to fix it! She has to call in the big guns in the form of Eddie R. Any of the shows with Henry Wrinkler is great even if he is on screen for one scene.

And then there is Boris! His and Hank's relationship is dynamic because of Boris not being so trusting and Hank being loyal to him and respecting this trust that Boris does give him!

This season ended with Paige and Evan getting married and Hank becoming the patient! This was one of the best episodes! She is not the spoiled rich girl and she is just so fresh and honest and brings out the best in Evan! After having the perfect wedding with just the good stuff after one disaster after another and it just ending with Hank being in surgery it left you wanting Season 5 to hurry up because Hank is the thread that ties them all together and you can not help but wonder how they are going to all handle Hank being vulnerable!!

The writers are struggling to meld these divergent needs. Hank and Evan are having a very familiar, very realistic family fight about where to take their joint business and how to do it.

As realistic as this is, viewers want to watch Hank and Evan together because that has been a big part of the appeal of the show. To meet both needs, Hank and Evan have begun to mend their personal relationship but their business relationship remains on the rocks. This allows the two brothers to interact in terms of the plot and not be constantly at each other's throats.

A Royal Pain

I was glad to see Hank learn this episode just how much Evan does and how valuable it is as Hank is in trouble without Evan, but Evan is having trouble replacing Hank as well. The disagreement and the conflict is realistic, true to the characters as they have been depicted and grown for the last three seasons and excruciating to watch. I don't know what the writers can offer as alternate conflict but I don't like the conflict of Evan and Hank, even though I love the show.

I liked it, but I would, as a medical professional, have to say if real life medicine were just this easy to do, everyone would do it! Since that isn't even a newly-hatched dream, we just have to accept the premise that money still buys everything, even an MD who drops everything the minute you call Would that was reality. The end, which I will not reveal, was too much of a disappointment to me to give this 5 stars. Good plots, story line pretty muddled, mostly due to the not yet real "concierge medicine" shtick. Otherwise, a fun watch, until it ends abruptly. This series is a combination of drama not action and comedy.

It is a great series when you just want to sit, relax and watch a short minutes show. Hank and Divia perform many "on the spur" improvised medical procedures to save peoples lives that may or may not be realistic. I don't know enough about the practice of medicine to know, but it makes for an interesting show. I enjoy coming home from a long day teaching school to 8th graders and sitting down for a break with an episode of this show.

Set in the posh summer enclave of the Hamptons, the series starring Mark Feuerstein as concierge doctor Hank Lawson, was a breakout hit when it premiered in summer Seven years later, USA is home of darker, edgier fare highlighted by its new flagship drama Mr. We never spent much time trying to divine what the series finale would be. But ultimately, the finale had to largely serve the stories we had been telling in our final couple of seasons.

And there was no real way to anticipate what those stories would be. Was the Hamptons just a pit stop on his road to reinvention? Or was it his ultimate destination? It was a pretty polarizing debate, with everyone bringing very strong arguments to the table. And that was the second-biggest debate. But we knew that if we brought her back, we had to do it in a way that felt earned, and honored the intervening seasons with her gone.

So we decided to bring her back before the finale, to properly set it up. The episode we brought her back for happened to be our th, which only reinforced the fated quality of her return. Taking in the image of his full, thriving family.
