She starts to see more and more of what her parents and her brother are and notices other parents are kind of strange as well. Together with her friends they try to save a local girl from being 3. Together with her friends they try to save a local girl from being killed. She discovers that her friends harbor powers as well that they had no clue about.
Can things get any worse? This book was slightly better than book one. We get answers to lots of questions like what is Jazmyn and why is she in this town. I also want to gag with her mom and those odd smoothie concoctions like beets and asparagus. Also what happened to tarantula dude? Did we just forget about him? Just once again it was hard to keep track of the story. I just think there is potential to be a great story and maybe these are books that get better as they go along.

Blood and Fire is the second in the Vampires of Shadow Hills fantasy series and is not explicitly advertised as a YA novel, but is more suited to tweens. Robyn is concerned. Sure she knows that her vampire parents have turned her brother and that she is next.
Why else would she suddenly be home-schooled and kept away from her friends? Especially Jayden, who she still has a major crush on.
Oh, and Blood and Fire is the second in the Vampires of Shadow Hills fantasy series and is not explicitly advertised as a YA novel, but is more suited to tweens. Oh, and there is the matter of Melanie, another friend, who was attacked and seems to be changing into something. Just an average, ordinary teenage life I picked this up as a free book as I have read a number of good books by the author and the cover looked like a fun YA novel.

This really felt like a gateway novel to me. Something to introduce a new character and add a bit of info to the previous book, but nothing of substance. The bit that felt the most intriguing, for me, is the house with the spell on it. With the number of fantasy novels out there involving vampires, werewolves and witches, you have to really have a new concept to sell. Nothing inherently wrong with it, but nothing that would make me buy the rest of the series.

And to make matters worse, her mother has decided to homeschool her to keep her away from Jayden. But he has his own family secrets that are coming out and making his life difficult too. But they are not the only ones in Shadow Hills. The teens are trying to keep girls from being killed and they are learning that there is more to all of their stories than what they knew.
This series is getting better and better. Robyn is trying Robyn is struggling to be the only human in a house full of vampires. Robyn is trying to not let her family know that she knows their secret. But this is just one more drop in the bucket of things going on in Shadow Hills. But are they here to help or cause more death and destruction? This series is starting to get better but it sure likes to end on cliff hangers. I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily chose to read and post an honest review.

Connect the Dots Faster Mild Spoilers Maybe this is because it is a YA novel, or we are going for the long haul in stretching out the series, but I completely had it figured out that Jayden's family were werewolves and not vampires back in book 1. I'm curious to how the parents couldn't figure out who really attacked Melanie.

Oh jeez, a wolf like creature attacked you, must have been the vampire son. I am still enjoying the books and I want to confirm what Amy is, other than the most amazing friend to have cooking you food all the time. Also, Robyn's mom is scary savage and I want to see how far she will go to threaten Mar 11, Michelle rated it really liked it.

Book two of The Vampires of Shadow Hills satiated my desire to know more about Robyn and Jayden, as I was left with voids from book one. However, even more mysteries and secrets come to light leaving the setting of a bad joke: A witch, a werewolf, and a vampire walk into a spell-ridden house. I had to, if you read the book, you will get it.
Evacuation Orders, Road Closures Lifted for Willow Fire in Lakeside
Cozy YA novella that makes you want to read more after the sudden endings, cliffhangers in a way, from the happenstances in the neighborhood of Shadow Hills. I enjoy Willow Rose's writings of the series as she intertwines the characters and story-line into a relatable situation; sounds odd, but it works. Trust no one is definitely the theme for the second book of the series I received for this book tour. I just need some rebellious moment coming from Robyn and I'll be pleased no matter how ridiculously unreal the personality of other characters might be.
Lately, thanks God this story has had a turn for the good, I get that the monster parents have loose morals for anyone who's not their family and even then, I'm pretty sure Camille would have hurt her daughter in the woods for lying to her, besides what she and her husband did to their son by turning him like the other parents was just cruel and unloving, they took his choices away from him and that's unforgivable besides them being sadistic and amoral murderers, obvs.
