Table of contents

This comedian, singer, and preacher's daughter has a knack for finding merriment in those little things that can drive anyone crazy. Her wacky stories won't just get you laughing so hard you'll forget what was bugging you; they go deeper, illustrating profound spiritual truths. As a Christian it's easy to assume that life's little sticking points shouldn't aggravate you. It can be hard to go to God with the "petty" details of your day, because they seem exactly that - petty. So when your day and your temper both seem like a wet bar of soap - hard to get a grip on - don't work up a lather!

Listen to Chonda Pierce on Her Soapbox instead. You'll do more than get a good chuckle - you'll discover that God is deeply interested in everything about you. What would it be like to get so close to God that we could see ourselves in His eyeballs? What if we could see our images reflected there because we were so close to him?

Roadkill on the Highway to Heaven (Audiobook) by Chonda Pierce | leondumoulin.nl

Chonda Pierce wants to get close enough to God to see herself as God sees her. But to move closer to God, we first have to see him. He's a YouTube sensation. And now he becomes an author. Best known for his song parodies and riffs on yoga pants and homeschooling, Tim Hawkins now shares his perspective on life in the 21st century in his long-awaited debut book. Tim's topics are as wide-ranging as his stand-up comedy, including marital communications "Marriage needs a challenge flag, like in pro football" , worship music "Pick the right key, because I'm not Barry White and I'm not a Bee Gee" , and food "Eating a Krispy Kreme donut is like eating a baby angel".

Prepare to be stunned, shocked, illuminated, and amazed.

Love it, thank you! It's a great little book of Chonda Pierce's many adventures but not a book that will have you laughing till your teeth hurt. It's more like a bio of Chonda's traveling adventures on the road.

Roadkill on the Highway to Heaven Audiobook [Download]

Makes for a good read on a rainy day without the intensity of a complicated novel or deep biography. This book does have it's amusing parts, but it is not a story that flows. It's made up of little tidbits here and there. The good thing is the chapters are short and you can put it down for long periods and when you pick it back up you can just move on. I prefer books that I can't wait to get back to.

Chonda Pierce is just hilarious. And most importantly she loves the Lord. This book tells her stories from the road when she's on tour. She writes the way she speaks so it was very easy to read. I have liked Chonda Pierce for many years and enjoy going to her concerts. Her books are written as if she is sitting right there with you.

Her openness and her honesty as to how life happens is so on point. She suffers, cries, laughs, and has hopes just like you and me. She however, has a close relationship with God that helps us the readers to search for the same type of relationship with God. I think everyone should read her books, especiall the Laughing in the Dark a story of how she beat depression.

I bought this for my mom for Christmas in She is a huge Chonda Pierce fan.

She finished the entire book in a day and said she enjoyed it thoroughly! She is looking forward to more of Chonda's stuff. So many comedians feel they must be "dirty" to be funny. I have to take a bus for days. I have to walk up steep stairs in skinny heels. In short, I sometimes take a beating like roadkill on a country highway!

Life really is one long journey to heaven. My travel journal is filled with what I've learned along the waythe hurts, the laughter, the victories, the failings, the crowds and the loneliness, and mostly, the times I've seen God at work. My Sweet Harley Momma. Are We There Yet? Bumps in the Road.
