I was a bit disappointed some things weren't written - Barb is interesting and has been well developed, but then was put aside while new characters were followed. I'd have liked to see more of her and significantly less of the space "detail".

I keep thinking Anderle loves that Star Trek h Ratings are based on this being unarguably just a fun action series full of stereotypes and tropes and having no pretense of being anything but. I keep thinking Anderle loves that Star Trek has been pointed out as predicting technologies before they arrive, so he wants to detail his in the hopes he can walk that path - personally, I don't need all the detail he provides. This is where the series slowly starts to take on a more serious science fiction character. As can be seen from the book blurb we are now starting to talk about getting into space and having bases on the moon. I am actually looking forward to this. Luckily the author is not rushing things so there are still plenty of vampire and werewolf business going on back on Earth. In one sense you could say that the book is more of the same. More of the Queen Bitch, more of the fun bantering between all the members of the team and of course more of the ass kicking.

I do not think that I have read any book series before that managed to keep the core values and the same formula for so long and still keep me interested. The author makes the story and characters evolve in a way that it is new and old at the same time keeping the good parts that make the series what it is while adding new situations and new problems to solve, either by engineering or good old violence. In this particular part of the story the author throws in a vampire bitch wannabee that needs to be dealt with and a few minor problems such as how to put a base on the moon.

You know, just the usual stuff in a days work for a Queen Bitch. The latter little issue turns out to finally put the media spotlights on TQB industries which of course opens a new can of worms translation: So, as usual, a really good and fun to read book. Okay so this series is good. However, the author has run a muck with adding so many characters to this series that is is now become too confusing. I am sad this has happened because I really started out liking these books. But now I can't even enjoy them anymore and I have to give up. Not only are there way too many characters a couple have the same name.

It was a struggle to finish this book. That hasn't happened yet and my fingers are crossed it doesn't. Again, hoping the author doesn't get carried away with too many characters. As for the narration, it is amazing! Emily Beresford does such an amazing job she literally has a different voice for about 40 different characters so far in this series. I was not expecting it to be this good. This series sports a tough heroine that we can relate to ,she knows she can kick butt, very driven and passionate in her mission. The author has done a splendid job of taking what you think you know about the supernatural and twisting it to give you a new flavour.

For those fans of supernatural fiction it's a breath of fresh air while not being too far removed from what we know and love. Jul 08, Bernie rated it it was amazing. I'm not very good at noticing when I've finished reading a book, I don't see the importance, but I usually roll through a new book in anywhere from a day to a week. It obviously depends on the length of the book and what else I've got going on.

Jan 27, Olga rated it it was amazing. So this 8th installment was great as all the other ones. I love that we have finally shifted focus and are branching out. I cannot wait to read more. I'm going to go look for the John Grimes novel that Michael was talking about. I seriously love the characters in this book, I don't know if I'd be ok if anything happened to some of them. In the mean time I'm enjoying the great insults they lovingly throw around. Gets me all warm and fuzzy.

I can't read these quickly enough, yet also wish it would take longer to read sorry - can I claim woman's prerogative? I'm impressed the story is continuing in the same high calibre as it started. I found things I missed the first time and enjoying the Series more, but also there are things in the re-edited release that I wish you would have left in. The characters are so great as is the storyline. These books have had me laughing, cussing, crying etc. I raise my coke up to you and the other authors who are doing the spin offs of some of the timeline and other characters.

I can not get enough of this series. If you have not read this series I would highly recommend it. Apr 07, Johnny LeBon rated it did not like it. To be honest I couldn't finish this book. One guy taking on 8 vampires and coming away with only a few scratches! I don't care how "enhanced" he is, this requires a HUGE suspension of belief.
