Baseball: The Early Years

Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. This is mostly a business history of the early days of baseball. Seymour does have three or four chapters on the games and players during the 19th century. But mostly he goes into great detail on the business aspects of how professional baseball came about. If you are looking for this then it should be right up your alley. I wish he had more about the players and games than he did. Such as, he mentioned of their being a "World Series" between the National League and American Association in the 's.

But other than a quick synopsis of how each series went that was all that was said. I would have liked some detail on the games and the reactions by the general public to them. He does have chapters of the games for the 's and 's.
