Anything but a date. One of the reasons I enjoy reading Lily's books is because the characters are truly adorable, innocent and sweet. This is no different for Lexi and Brad. Their friendship starts to blossom once again, but this time Lexi is ready for the next step. She actually wants that date, needs it, because it's what she's always been wanting from him. The best part of a second chance romance is getting a glimpse of the first chance. I really feel like starting this book off with a flashback to when these two first met, or even their PROM night would've been a great way to open up their story.

Flashbacks help us connect with what the characters went through, where they came from. I feel like if Lily would've added a little more insight to their past this way, I would've been able to connect better with these two. My absolute favorite part of this book is their first date. Truly romantic and gives you all the feels! This isn't our first date. Maybe on paper it is, but without knowing it, I've had my sights set on you our whole life.

Ahh, the good stuff, right?

I was excited to see an element of suspense in this one. I was expecting it, but would've enjoyed a little more detail, or plotting to solidify the story. I really enjoyed how everything fell into place though. Overall, I would say that this is my second favorite book of Lily's, behind Delivery Girl. I really hope that we get to see books for Sasha and Kitty. I would love to see Lexi's brother try to tame Kitty into domestication!

Oct 17, Escape into a Booksite rated it it was amazing Shelves: kindle. This is my second Lily Kate book and I loved this just as much as the first one I read. It was funny and quirky and romantic and had enough serious moments in it too.

AFFILIATE LINK DISCLOSURE:

I really liked both Lexi and Bradley, our two main characters. They were both relatable and I quickly fell into step with them. Lexi's friends were also really funny and I loved how they always had her back. Bradley was so damned adorable. I liked how things moved quickly yet also slowly for he and Lexi. Knowing each other for so long but never admitting to your feelings and is huge. I felt like things were dealt with maturely in this book and also theres no huge amount of drawn out angst. Any problems that arise are argued out or dealt with straight away and didn't make me sit there reading with my heart in my mouth.

Hangry Girl (The Girls #1) by Lily Kate

Also, the epilogue was perfect. Hilarious and sexy and all round just right. This book was just lots of fun! I'll definitely be keen to continue this series and would definitely recommend. Although she has a few books out, this was my introduction to this author. Hangry follows Bradley Hamilton and Lexi Monroe. The two have known each other for 20 years but haven't really spoken for the last 3 years until they get stuck in an elevator together.

They make a deal to go on a date together and the story takes off from there. Before getting into my opinion, I think the synopsis gives away too much information and is a bit misleading. I felt the synopsis basically gave an outline of the story so I wasn't surprised by most of the events that happened.

It was also misleading because certain events were exaggerated or they didn't happen as they were stated in the synopsis. Going into this book, I thought Hangry was an enemies-to-lovers story but it wasn't that kind of story. If possible I would know go into this novel knowing as little as possible, I think it would make the read a lot more enjoyable if you do. Despite those things, I still think this was a decent storyline. After enemies-to-lovers, life long friends realizing that maybe they love each other is one of my favorite things to read about in contemporary romance novels.

While frustrated with them at times, I found myself hoping the main characters worked through their issue and were able to be happy together. Since Lexi and Bradley have so much history, everything else would be worth it in the end. I can see this being a story lots of people enjoy but this one was missing some things for me. I want to check out more from this author in the future. Hangry is the best Lily Kate novel yet! It was heartwarming, hilarious and hunger inducing!

My deepest desire. My vice. My lover Obviously you agree to the date and get your hamburger! What seems like a relatively easy and quick romance between Brad and Lexi turns messy really quick. Brad was so sweet and sensitive Hangry is the best Lily Kate novel yet!

Boss Girl: Minnesota Ice, Book 2

Brad was so sweet and sensitive and thoughtful and caring and any woman would be lucky to have him, but Lexi is his perfect match. When they finally discover that they have each had been in love with each other since they were kids, the romance and swoony moments have really been kicked up a notch!

Add in Bradley Hamilton, and my universe sparkles. Y'all this book! I just the right amount of drama thrown in. Lexi and Bradly loved to argue and I really enjoyed their bantering, they felt more real to me because of it. If you are looking for fun a flirty romantic comedy, Hangry is the perfect book for you. What would you sell your soul for?

What would you do if you were dying of hunger and someone offered you food in exchange for something? Would you accept it? For Minnie, when she ended up stuck in an elevator with Brad whom up to three years ago was a very close family friend - he had a burger, she was hangry so what did she sell for the burger?

A date with Brad. Growing up Minnie had a major crush on Brad but was under the impression he just saw her his friend's little sister. One thing leads What would you sell your soul for? One thing leads to another with Minnie and Brad and after a lot of back and fro'ing between the pair of them and the encouragement of her best friends Sasha and Kitty the pair finally get together and work out those feelings of repressed love.

What will happen though when Brad's partner Leo wants to get back at Brad and sets up a meeting to buy Minnie's Diner as he wants to tear it down and build a gym. Will Minnie feel that Brad is part of this deal and feel betrayed? Will this be the end of their starting relationship? Hangry was a good romance, but I have to admit I had hoped to enjoy it more than I did as the main characters of Hangry played their relationship the way I hate. The whole no communication thing, going behind each other's backs and pussyfooting with their feelings.

It's like seriously if you love each other then be there for one another and more importantly - communicate and let the other person know what's happening in their lives. This happens to be one of my pet hates in books. Overall, if you are looking for a romance read, then check out Hangry by Lily Kate and think about what you would give up for food? Oct 27, Michelle rated it really liked it. I thoroughly enjoyed Hangry. For those of you that don't know, Hangry is a word to describe people that get angry or irritable when they are hungry.

It is just as hilarious as the title and summary lead you to believe that it is. This book had me laughing pretty much non-stop from beginning to end. If you are looking for a book that is a flat out good time, give Hangry a try. I can't wait to read more novels from Lily Kate. Hangry is a romance as well. It is the story of Lexi and Bradley. Lexi cannot stand Bradley, but when she gets so hangry she can't stand it anymore she "sells her soul" for a hamburger. Seriously, just thinking about this book has me grinning like a fool. Lexi and Bradley are hilarious together.

There is tons of URST, and the chemistry between the two of them is off the charts! Whatever you do, don't write this book off as something silly.

Yes, the humor is present throughout and yes, the book is funny as heck, but the romance is full of heart and all the warm fuzzies. I think Hangry is the perfect book for anyone that loves a great romance with a healthy dose of humor.
