We finally got to the bottom of what has Scarlett all frazzled and worried about. Well I had a suspicion of what her past might be like and I was right but then Missy had to add another shocker that I didn't see coming. I enjoyed the book but I thought the ending was a little too rush for my taste but I'm glad to see that the once arrogant British bad boy was able to change his ways.

Sep 29, Rob rated it it was amazing Shelves: I've been chomping at the bit to read this book and finally I have read it and it certainly didn't disappoint.

See a Problem?

So Ryder finally became a man in love, and he admitted it. It comes to us all in the end. Shagging for shagging's sake does get boring after a while. Same old situations just a different vessel. I met my wife, like Ryder met Scarlett, and something inside just twigs. Your heart opens and you realise that you have lived your whole life waiting for this moment, the moment when you feel con I've been chomping at the bit to read this book and finally I have read it and it certainly didn't disappoint. Your heart opens and you realise that you have lived your whole life waiting for this moment, the moment when you feel consumed by these new feelings of love.

I think Ryder really grew up in this book. He found something he enjoyed doing.

He learned how it felt to have a sick child and be all consumed with dealing with that. I think there was a definite character growth throughout the 3 books. I must admit, I liked the arrogance and cockiness of Ryder in the first book, but it was nice to see him grow into something responsible. His protective side came out. Scarlett, ah Scarlett, what a dark side you had! Who knew your past eh. Sometimes it's the quiet ones you have to watch!! Missy Johnson has written these 3 books in a very compact style.

There's no fluff and bluff or padding. She had a story to tell and she told it with no frills. Yes things were resolved easily and because of that you didn't feel like you were perched on the edge of the cliff wondering what was going to happen to Ryder and Scarlett for ages. It was, this happened, solution, bam. I enjoyed this style of writing, it was like fresh fruit, made your mouth water but didn't rot your teeth!

She followed the rule that if you have 20 words to say then use 20 words to say it and I liked that. I am already looking at other books Ms Johnson has written, for me to read. Sep 04, Becca rated it really liked it. As part three begins, things with Tony have officially reached the point of no return. Both Ryder and Scarlett have made their moves and now all they can do is wait to see how things shake out. I felt like I was counting down to the minute when everything would just explode.

Missy did a good job at building the suspense and keeping me guessing until the As part three begins, things with Tony have officially reached the point of no return. Missy did a good job at building the suspense and keeping me guessing until the moment when all hell broke loose. I enjoyed the emotions she created around this whole situation. I could definitely sense the anxiety and fear that the characters struggled with.

Ryder continued to show significant character growth throughout this novel. The man Missy leaves us with is far from the irresponsible, nonchalant playboy from the first volume.

I would have liked to see a little more growth in their overall relationship. I felt like too much time was spent lying and hiding things from each other and not enough time spent on their relationship after her secret is revealed. Because of this the end of the story seemed to wrap up fairly quickly and I felt it took something away from how much struggle and strife they had endured.

The author did resolve things in a satisfactory manner and gave us an epilogue to enjoy as well. Sep 30, S. Harshell rated it really liked it Shelves: I felt is was a very good ending to this series. There was so much drama in this one that just one conversation could have stopped. The back and forth hiding secrets was seriously annoying. I get that they were trying to protect each other but lord. Johnson brought it all together when they finally did come clean with one another it became a better read.

I truly enjoyed the series and it is worth the read. I can't wait to see what Ms. Johnson comes up with next! Sep 18, Elizabeth rated it it was amazing Shelves: How lucky am I? I know that the whole point is to give an honest review I didn't expect to have any problems as I reviewed the first two volumes at five stars.

I was not disappointed. It is vital that you read volumes one and two first otherwise this book will make no sense. I'm not going to tell you what happens but it is a bit of a roller coaster ride with Jake being very ill, Scarlett and Ryder deciding whether o Oh wow. I'm not going to tell you what happens but it is a bit of a roller coaster ride with Jake being very ill, Scarlett and Ryder deciding whether or not to come clean with each other, Hit men, Boston Police and the FBI. Let's remember the wildcard in all this - Cally has a chance to make a name for herself at Wimbledon.

Will Ryder's name be a help or a hindrance? This is a short volume; it took me only a few hours to read it. It was everything I wanted. Well written, snappy plot twists, hot sex and some people do get the HEA. Aug 30, Cassandra Caress rated it it was amazing Shelves: Perfect ending to this series! Great conclusion to a well thought out story. So many times a dual POV story can fail - but most certainly not here.

Wildcard: Volume Two (Wildcard, #2) by Missy Johnson

The chopping and changing worked, keeping the reader's head moving as if watching a tennis match. I'm even excited at the prospect of catching up with my new friends when Callie gets her story. Possibly my only gripe is that I would have happi "I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads. Possibly my only gripe is that I would have happily read it all in one sitting rather than having to wait - but now can reread in its totality.

Fun, cute, sexy and dramatic - this series presses all the right buttons - enjoy! Oct 12, Joanne rated it liked it. There was so much going on it could have been better if it had been longer. It all seemed a bit too rushed. Sep 16, Jennifer rated it it was amazing Shelves: As with the first two volumes, I loved this just as much. I am a fan of Missy's writing and the characters she creates. This is the conclusion to Ryder and Scarlett's story.

Let me just say that these two sure did have there fair share of hurdles to overcome, and this installment was no different. Volume 3 starts up right where Volume 2 ended. Ryder has paid off Tony to stay out of Scarlett's life, but Ryder still has NO idea what Tony was holding over her head.

Well I will tell you that this volume answers all of the unanswered questions of the previous installments. We find out what Scarlett did in her past and we see how both her and Ryder handle it. Now even with Tony being the main issue in their relationship, Missy added a couple more mountains these two had to climb to finally get to their HEA.

I've got to hand it to Ryder…I give him a lot of credit for sticking things out with Scarlett. I have to say I don't know if I would've stuck around after all the lies she continued to tell. I was shocked with one turn of events that was revealed about her past and how it connected to Ryder's present. Overall I was really happy with how this series ended. I kind of just wish more would've come about with one character. I thought he got off way to easy, but I was glad to see Tony got what was coming to him. I am also excited to learn more about the companion novel coming out in for Cally.

I am hoping that with how her characters storyline turned out, we will be seeing more of Ryder in her book. I would recommend this series for anyone looking for a fun, sexy, steamy and somewhat suspenseful love story that has a HOT Tennis Pro as the Hero. If you are a fan of Missy's then you don't want to miss this series either. This is definitely one that I will read again in the future. If you are someone who doesn't like cliffhangers….. Fortunately for us, she comes back and tries to explain herself and even though the first time Ryder wasn't having none of her explanations, her reasons were genuine. Once they are able to talk things out, the hot sex marathon begins, these two can't keep their hands of each other and their sexcapades get intensely HOT!!!

Another problem I keep having with this book is how relax was Scarlett as a mother, it just doesn't seem right for her to be that way, specially since her child is very ill. These are all minor details that could have been easily fixed, but they are not that severe that prevents the reader from enjoying this story.

Im already very invested in this books and now more than ever I'm very anxious to read the conclusion to this very sexy tale of a reformed bad boy View all 24 comments. His tennis career is put on hold after his injury, and his sponsors set up an opportunity for him to be a mentor at a tennis camp in the US for 3 weeks. When Ryder arrives in Chicago he heads straight to Scarlett's to surprise her. He thinks she's lied to him, and he never wants to see her again. Ryder tries to go back to his old ways but just can't follow through.

He can't quit thinking about Scarlett. Scarlett has some secrets from her past that her ex is blackmailing her with. She goes to Ryder to try to explain she isn't with her ex. Ryder knows her ex is holding something over her, but doesn't know what. As these two make up we get some very steamy scenes! Bring on book 3!!! I was really looking forward to this book as the last book left us with a nasty cliffhanger!

We finally get some answer but the Author just made me ask more questions. This book starts where the first book left off! Ryder is not happy but he is stuck in the US for the next 3 weeks. He cannot play Tennis because he is still recovering from his little accident. She tries to sort the problems out herself but Ryder cannot just sit back and wait so he investigates. What will Ryder find out??

I hope to find out soon like the 30th of September soon haha! I want it NOW!!!!! View all 8 comments. Sep 16, Nikki rated it really liked it Shelves: Ryder Stevens is definitely back and he is mucho pissed off. Ryder flips out and takes off. He attempts to go back to his hoochie pappa ways, only to find out how much he misses Scarlett. So Scarlett FINALLY tracks Ryder down to explain the situation, because of course, all is not what it seems and she is just about to explain herself when all of a sudden Yes, angry sex, very angry, yet very hot.

But alas, no worries. Ryde and Scar get their shit together, followed by more monkey sex. Where this book shifts, is that now you got a cray cray baby daddy. Like way cray cray. He is holding something over Scarlett so there is a lot of drama and definitely more coming on that front in the next book. He was basically absent in this installment. I hope we get to see more of him next time. So can't wait for book 3 in a few weeks. The cliffie ain't really that bad this time around, but I am still dying for the next installment.

Definitely enjoying this serial!! View all 15 comments. Volume Two 99c Amazon: View all 5 comments. For the first time is his life, he has lowered his defenses and let someone in his heart. And all she did was shredding it into pieces, letting the wind blow them away. Now Ryder has to forget all about this cruel woman and go back to being his old self. But it's not that easy Everything reminds him of her. No one is as perfect as her. All he thinks about is their limited happy times together. He is enraged and very devastated about what happened, but still, he is ready to hear her out Scarlett is desperate to talk to Ryder.

You see, she has some secrets. She can and will do anything to keep those secrets hidden. So, a desperate Scarlett calls everyone she can think of to learn where Ryder is. Once she learns about his whereabouts, she goes straight to his hotel room to talk. But Ryder is pissed off and doesn't want to listen. And in the heat of the moment He throws her out. But Scarlett is determined. After ugly-crying for awhile, she gets her big-girl panties on and demands Ryder that he listen to him. And they make up. Ryder is a very patient and understanding man, I guess.

I, for one, would have demanded her to spill every single thing out and still would have thought for a second about whether I was willing to forgive that person or not. But that's just me, apparently. I wonder what Jake's "worst-daddy-of-the-year" winner biological father has on Scarlett. It's still a mystery and I can't wait to learn what this horrible man could possibly be dangling in front of her that might result in Scar losing Jake.

There's a lot going on at the end of the book, most of which could go very VERY wrong. Now, I'll have to patiently wait for Book 3. View all 12 comments. Sep 24, Jen rated it really liked it. This is Volume two in this serial, and I am definitely hooked and enjoying the storyline. It looks like Scarlett has some major explaining to do to Ryder. There are some secrets we find out; but of course; with the revelations.. By the end of this short story, there are some major questions that I have; which means that I NEED to read the last installment!

LOL That is the joy of serials though, isn't it?! I will say that I surprisingly have fallen in love with Ryder.

Wildcard: Volume Two

He may h This is Volume two in this serial, and I am definitely hooked and enjoying the storyline. He may have been a huge manwhore in the beginning of this trilogy; but his character development is a pleasure to watch! He truly is coming in to his own, and he is slowly showing that he is a man of major worth! I am for sure loving his transformation. Scarlett though, I am hoping that she is going to improve in the final book. There are some things that she is doing that is really irking me. Main one being that she is hiding things from Ryder.

That is so not ok with me.. Especially, how he steps up to the plate for her. So, I am going to hope that she is going to surprise me and become a heroine that I can like. Another great read from Missy Johnson!! I would say that she is an author to keep our eyes on.. Her work so far has been very enjoyable, and I look forward to what she will bring to the table in her future!! This serial is a great addition to my favorites library! View all 6 comments. This installment was done in typical Missy style After volume 1 that left us with super cliffy ending, this book tells us about who actually the guy in Scarlett's house is. But I too bad, I think this part is not as great nor as exciting as volume 1. I was soooo excited to read this though And the ending is just like the volume one, cliffhanger I can't wait for the closure of Ryder and Scarlett story!
