The decision to start a new life is never an easy one, but for Joe the transition was far from figurative. Becoming a permanent addition to a game world, it doesn't take long to learn that people with his abilities are actively hunted. In fact, if the wrong people gained knowledge of what he was capable of, assassins would appear in droves. After dying and being reborn into a world that's built like a video game, Jim has found himself stuck in a very old-world style new-player zone for low-level adventurers.

Contact Me

Unfortunately, the zone fell out of use centuries ago, and no one told the monsters they were supposed to take it easy on the Noobs. Even worse, the only new player around is Jim. Jim has been given an opportunity, and he'll do his best to take advantage of it. Even after pre-ordering the pod that would allow them to play "Glendaria Awakens", Krista and Devin still had to wait months before they were able to experience the newest in VRMMORPG virtual reality massively multiplayer online role-playing game technology.

The wait was definitely worth it as they entered into a game world that was virtually indistinguishable from real life - apart from the obvious game elements of course. After starting in a typical starting town, they learned everything they needed to survive in this new world. Set amongst the mystical, floating islands of Hankarth, it's played and enjoyed by millions every hour. Until something goes wrong. Unable to log out, players find themselves reduced to level one, and in the starting zones.

They receive a cryptic message from the developers stating that for unknown reasons, they are trapped in the game and may have to live out their lives within the virtual world. Thrust by a mysterious portal into an unknown world, Nick Barnette does what anyone would do in his situation: he runs. Through his trials and tribulations, Nick notices that he has developed a strange power that allows him to slow down time, vastly improving his combat ability. When Tripp Keaton wakes up, he discovers that he is an orc.

An orc in a strange world, with the skeletons of humongous beasts scattered around him. Deep in the world of an online game, Tripp finds himself alone, weaponless, and with nobody to call a friend.

Lost on the Last Continent II

Soundbooth Theater has returned to the world of Pangea Online 2! Rowland's classic LitRPG continues in audio better than ever. This 2nd instalment is just as good, actually better, the full immersion in this 2nd book is great, it's the build up that books you. Again the narration is superb, giving the story it's own personality bringing the characters to life.

Rowland story, not if you just want more of book 1 as for narration, SBT delivered as always, nothing much to say there A very good sequel! The more things change, the more they stay the same,as in trouble our main character finds himself in. The extra effects seem over the top at times. This story seems unfinished, maybe a book 3 is in the works? I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. I enjoyed this story, but not as much as book 1. Esil felt more invested in his role and struggles during the first book.

Again, great narration by the 2 storytellers, but I feel the added sound effects took a little away from the story this time, and did more to jerk me out of the moment than enhance it. This is my honest opinion of a free review copy. I was lukewarm to book 1 and this one falls right off a cliff and into the chasm of boredom.
