Other subjects include the siege of Petersburg, witnessing explosions at Fort Stedman, Confederate advances, and his unit's readiness in the event of attack.
There is one post-war letter written where Andrews invites his father and uncle to visit him while he is stationed in Alexandria, and he writes about the eagerness of the troops to return home.
