A very difficult hurdle to overcome when dealing with challenging conditions is finding contentment within our lives. Contentment if finding the place we belong and finally feeling like we fit in. It is clearly no easy task! It amazes me that the disabled get it from both sides, christians claiming they need to just pray harder, have more faith, and secular success gurus claiming if they just has a positive mental attitude nothing would be wrong.

We can help them mourn what they have lost, walk. Many people consider that faith should be something uplifting, a bringer of light to the darkness, a well-spring of joy and delight to the broken and weary. When in reality faith is often a journey into darkness. We often must face the most painful aspects of reality to be able to have faith in the God that created them. It is often true that people get tired of listening to our stories, and may even accuse us of whining or complaining all the time.

This could be a lack of compassion, love, or care to understand on their part. But it is more likely also in part a significant inability f. The Book is Out!! The Book Why Not Me: A print edition should be forthcoming in about 60 days. Today I want to mention something about addictions. Addictions to pain killers, anxiety meds, even antidepressants can be an additional obstacle to achieving success and joy for those with challenging conditions. We can easily fool ourselves into thinking we need everything a doctor might prescribe us.

We can even justify using other substances to deal with severe chronic pain, the mental stress of disability and other issues like loneliness. It can be that holidays, even lesser days like Independence Day, can be daunting and depressing for people facing challenging conditions. I will keep my post short today with a little quick advise. On a special day find someone to talk to and treat yourself to something. Even if its a neighbor or friend on the phone, have a real conversation, do not remain completely isolated on a holiday because that will merely fuel loneliness and possible depression at no.

You can't be in THAT much pain. Stop being lazy and get a job. You just want attention.

Odd, he spends the whole text arguing against Gentry's reading of scripture by using secondary sources and secondary reasoning and almost never offering Biblical references to refute him. He is just as guilty of the sin which he refutes Gentry on.

This does real damage to his ca This was well enough write on the whole. These scholars play loose with the facts, use logical fallacies, special pleading, and personal attacks. Despite the overwhelming fact that they cannot agree on the most simple aspect of their own eschatology, these glass-house dwellers try to dispel their own disunity by casting stones at those trying to be biblically consistent with their theology and hermeneutic.

If internal confusion and hasty attack were sound argumentative techniques, the responses to preterism would be daunting.

As it is, however, they represent nothing more than a loud, shrill, persistent but not ultimately significant nor convincing critique of preterist theology. As an introduction to the type of criticism being leveled against biblical preterism I will first deal specifically with the introduction to the Keith A. I will follow with a thorough cross-examination of the testimony offered in the chapter authored by Kenneth Gentry.

In the end the evidence will show a consistent misrepresentation of the preterist position and its adherents. It will also demonstrate that the criticism is unfounded being precariously founded on ill-formed arguments and attempts to impugn preterist through constant repetition of guilt by association claims. The attack on preterists for using improper hermeneutic and argumentative tactics fails due to lack of evidence with regard to either charge.

Without showing any preterist who uses the techniques they condemn, there mere assertion proves nothing.
