I want alpha heroes who have a soft side but if an author isn't careful those alphas just come across as, um, well, a word I can't put in an Amazon book review. And unfortunately for you, the potential reader, I can't even tell you all the other things wrong with this book because I'm not allowed to use those words here, even if they are direct quotes from the book. I thought poor editing was the only thing capable of pulling me out of an otherwise enjoyable read but after all the examples I'm not allowed to give you here on this site, I now know I was wrong.

And jeez, I just realized that instead of warning you away from this book I probably just made you curious. One person found this helpful 2 people found this helpful. It is the story of two men who meet and share one passionate weekend together which turns into six months of exchanging emails before the contact between them ends abruptly.

Five years later they meet again to find each man has not forgotten the other. I loved that the short time that Devlin and Garrick spent together made such an impact. I loved the emotional connection between them. I loved that they had never felt able to move on and give themselves fully to another. I loved that time had not diminished what they felt.

Devlin is the little brother of Aiden from book 1 Aidan and Ethan and lives in the town of Redemption. Garrick subconsiously headed there, and towards Devlin, when his life exploded. There is some mystery as to why he has shown up in town, why his looks and name are different and why he pretends to not know Devlin. I must admit to being slightly confused at the beginning but it all eventually becomes clear.

The story alternates between the present the gradual reconnection of Devlin and Garrick filled with high emotion as the secrets from the past and true feelings are aired to the past their first meeting, the passionate weekend and emotional parting. The secondary characters in the book are great, particularly Devlin's sister Maddie and also Wyn and Grace. I liked the brief glimpse of how happy Ethan and Aiden are "Disgustingly happy as a couple for three years now, they made forever look attainable and inviting.

I particularly liked the scene where Garrick is playing ball with the kids when Devlin appears and joins in. The scene was so natural and reinforced how nice each man is by their simple interactions with the kids. Little Chloe was gorgeous and such a wise little girl. Plus I loved her explanations of 'transvesite' and 'transgender'. We need more mum's to give their kids such honest and simple explanations!

I found the whole story really engaging with a perfect balance of the emotional and the physical love. I loved the way the sex scenes were written, so full of raw and honest passion and truly reflecting 'making love'. I also loved Garrick's use of the endearment 'beautiful' - so sweet.

The Arthurian Companion Pendragon Fiction

I really enjoyed this story. I never thought I could enjoy a book about gay men, but I couldn't put this down. I felt the love a frustration of the two men. The first night they find one another in a gay club, to the weekend they spend together and then going their seperate eays ways heart wrenching. When they discover one another after 5 years was wonderful, and heartlifting even though they had some problems to work out. If you decide to buy this book, you should also by Aidan and Ethan seeking Redemption 1 , because Aidan is Devlins brother and the books sort of connect.

There both great reads, Cameron Dane has a huge talent as a writer, I loved this book and I hope you read it and feel the same way I did. One person found this helpful.

I am heterosexual and actually bought the book by mistake, but I am not sorry. I was sucked in from page one and could not put it down. This story made me laugh, cry, sit at the end of my chair in suspense and my heart ache for the characters in it. It is my opinion that if the story was about heterosexual love; this would be at the top of the bestseller list. I'll compare it to 50 shades; I have read all three of those and this is by far a superior piece of literature in every way.

It is a shame that we are still so narrow minded in the world, I'd LOVE to see a movie made about it. Gay, straight or anything in-between, I recommend you buy this book. I am a huge fan of Cameron Dane. She writes such touching, romantic, sexy and sweet love stories. She can put each characters true feelings and emotions all over every page. Are reader feels like we know these characters personally.

I loved Devlin and Garrick. Not your typical boy meets boy, gets boy and lives happily ever after.

But the truth must be told and Garrick finally needs to trust someone. They are amazing together and the sex scenes are incredibly steamy!!!!!!!!! This book surprised me in a good way.
