The Wild Animal Sanctuary is amazing. They support the animals in the best way possible with almost all money raised going to the animals. I have 6 adopted animals and I never worry about what my monthly donation is being spent on. When you visit, they truly welcome you and make your visit memorable in every way possible. I love TWAS!!! After one visit I saw how the animals were put above everything; their welfare is what TWAS is all about. I have attended many fundraisers for them from movies to walks and I haven't seen one thing that indicates the animals don't come first.

I support TWAS by adopting several animals and will continue to do so and find other ways to support them. Tesza J. Meg G. The work that Pat Craig, his family and staff do here epitomizes the meaning of the word sanctuary for these animals who were unfortunate enough to not be born in the wild. Human beings can be so selfish and inhumane, but thankfully there is a place for those animals who, through no fault of their own, have been subjected to such a cruel life before arriving at this beautiful oasis.

The Mile Walkway is an incredible addition that allows the human animal to enjoy and marvel in the wonderful world of lions, tigers and bears in their beautiful habitats. I have visited the Wildlife Sanctuary several times and always have has the privilege of spending a few minutes talking with Pat. His devotion and commitment to these animals is an incredible testament of his selflessness and his desire to give animals that have no hope the chance to live a life that is as close to what they were meant to have as possible. Julia K D. The Wild Animal Sanctuary is the most amazing place and it is in my "backyard" so to speak!

Come and learn about the animals, be sad for what they went through to get here, but be happy for the wonderful home they have now. Ken R.

WE RESCUED LOST BABY BEARS!

This facility truly defines what a great charity is and should be. My wife and I have watched it grow from its modest origins to a splendid. They have provided great care to animals that critically need the love and care they provide, as well as the freedom to live meaningful and happy lives. This is truly a facility worthy of great support. We have visited the Wild Animal Sanctuary several times and donate to them regularly. It is magnificent to see animals who have come out of abusive situations given the opportunity to live out happy, unstressed lives. This organization does absolutely wonderful work.

I have been a supporter of The Wild Animal Sanctuary since about and have been awed by the tremendous growth and achievements. Through the years the Sanctuary has stayed true to its mission of rescuing and caring for captive bears and carnivores from all over the world. One of the few organizations that truly puts the animals first, TWAS nurses the animals back to health and then cares for them for the rest of the animals' life--giving them acreage to roam, the best, healthy food, fresh air, sunshine and lots of love.

There is no breeding or exploitation of the animals. Active supporters and other caring individuals are able to visit and educate themselves on the work TWAS does, without stressing the animals, as a 1. Recently TWAS has added a 9, acre Refuge for animals to its acre Sanctuary, so almost 10, acres dedicated to giving bears, tigers, African lions, mountain lions, leopards, jaguars, lynx, bobcats, wolves, donkeys, camels, yaks, etc. Well worth supporting! Visiting it will change your life for the better. I have been actively involved with this Sanctuary since about My husband first heard about it on the news and he suggested, since we are animal lovers, that we go check it out.

We were impressed at all the exotic animals they were saving and how much they were doing without a lot of funds. Everything that is done is always in the animals' best interests. They have large acreage habitats, room to run, fresh water, fresh air, the best food, companionship with others of their species, excellent medical care, and RESPECT.

That includes ensuring that visitors are kept on elevated walkways, that there is no running, jumping, taunting, or any other human activity that could have an adverse effect on the animals, who are the Sanctuary's primary mission. Visitors are also educated about the captive wildlife crisis. I have seen first hand the impact The Wild Animal Sanctuary makes on the lives of its resident animals and on those humans who are fortunate enough to help live and care for them.

There is no other place its equal in all the world. The people of Twas are really amazing!. I have worked with them in several rescues that have been made in my country, Argentina, and we continue to do so to this day.

FOUR PAWS in Australia

I've been here several times and took guest with me to so Pat's work will get noticed - top of tops place for sure. Frankly with the change of pricing I fell it would give the larger families a better chance to make this trip more than once a year plus there's nothing that says you have to pay this all at once and I think this all gives those that like to complain a opportunity to do so, just me saying.

The work, care and everything else that's evolved hear is great. The volunteers are always welling to give out info of the animal or the working of the operation. I love animals and especially tigers so when I heard of this place I had to visit.

Bunny Visits Bear Sanctuary Prishtina

Once I visited I decided I had to help. We can't make large donations but whenever I make a donation my heart feels good. I have many great memories of visiting the Sanctuary and hopefully many more to come. I quit going to the circus 30 years ago when I seen a tiger trainer break a broom on a tigers head. The Sanctuary has made my greatest prayer to be that no animal is abused and no animal is in need of being rescued ever.

It also taught me how ignorant humans can be. The Wild Animal Sanctuary has been part of my life for the past 15 years and I encourage everyone I know to visit and support that wonderful organization. The dedication and love that is given to the rescued animals is amazing and to see big cats on their seemingly 9th life, the bears, and other species come back to be healthy, happy, and vigorous, and enjoying a life so far from what they were accustomed to is truly inspiring.

The new refuge in southern Colorado is an awesome addition to the sanctuary and I can't wait to see how the animals react after being re-homed there. TWAS is a truly beautiful place in many ways!

I have been visiting TWAS for many years. I first visited when it was a very small, compact visitor center with a short bridge overlooking the tiger roundhouse and binoculars looking out on the lions, bears, and wolves. The resident camel and his constant equine companion was still living in Boulder and I passed by his field every morning on my way to work. It always brought a smile to my face - a camel in a farm field. The growth of the sanctuary since that time is incredible! The new lion house and the new visitor center, to say nothing of the "mile into the wild" overhead walkway, and the acres upon acres of additional habitat, have made the sanctuary an annual destination for me and my grandchildren, plus many extra visits for just me!

Hearing the stories of rescues and seeing the happiness and healthiness of the beautiful animals makes my heart full. I donate frequently to the sanctuary, sponsor a mountain lion, and sing its praises every chance I get. I highly recommend supporting the sanctuary and the amazing work of Pat Craig, his staff, and everyone who volunteers to give these animals a safe and caring place to live!

Gwen F. I saw the movie Lion's Ark. I took my mom there and it was fascinating to see wild animals.

  • I hate zoos. They make me sad so I won't go to them anymore. I got to see lions. I saw some brown bears lounging in their pond. They are funny. I love wolves and belong to Defenders of Wildlife.

The great thing is they aren't in cages anymore. They can roam around and we can see them from up above without impacting their life. It's not much. It is so easy. I have other animal rights charities I give to.
