There is almost no prose, no character development, no insite into what any of the parties are thinking, no reflections by the detective about how all the interviews are boring but a required part of police work. There was also no real explaination of how the detective solved the crime. I tend to agree that this story comes across as a first draft and that there's almost no structure to it. There's minimal dialog, next-to-no character development or motivation given. There are 2 detectives, and sometimes they're referred to by their last names; sometimes by their first names - but never once is the reader told what the full name of either man is - so you don't really know who is speaking at any given time.

Consistency would have helped this along a great deal. I think that the story has some promise, but as written, there's too many holes in it and no background or detail is given as others have pointed out as well. So when I publish,.
