I think the hardest part about this condition is the loneliness and isolation you feel. To have to suffer silently for so many years, it just destroys you. I wish that this was required reading for all medical professionals. I have seen so many doctors that when I have said what is wrong with me they shrug it off, think it's in my head, tell me to get drunk, to relax, or even tell me that I must not be comfortable with my husband.
All of those things are lies, and none of them are helpful. To finally find a doctor who really knows, is amazing. This book is a gem. I am ten days post-botox-procedure and I am already making strides I never thought were possible. I am able to easily insert large dilators in pain free! My depression and anxiety have eased so much and I feel encouraged, empowered and in charge of my own body - for the first time in my life!
If you have Vaginismus, know someone with Vaginismus or are a medical professional -- I strongly urge you to read this book, you won't regret it.

I always knew something was wrong with me physically because of the trauma I endured and after working on myself for years, I thought what is the reason I cannot achieve intimacy. Then I found this book and Dr. Pacik explains without a lot of technical jargon what Vaginismus is and what are the possible causes and possible cures. It helps tremendously to know you are not alone and that there are women "just like you" who struggle with this frustrating and painful condition. Written with compassion and helpful information.
I took it to my doctor and told him "This is what is wrong with me" and it opened a whole new line of communication with my doctor. Definitely worth a shot and well worth the price! Helps you understand more about vaginismus and Helps you understand more about vaginismus and tells you everything about the Botox treatment.
Talks about using dilators and the 5 levels of vaginismus. It also shares the stories of several people who had vaginismus and then were cured. One person found this helpful. I have feelings at both ends of the spectrum about this. Mostly, it's extremely informative and I'm very grateful to Dr.

Pacik for writing it. The problem is that he seems to be the only one doing this. I live in one of the top five largest U. The reputable websites on vaginismus say it's "experimental" and don't recommend it, and my own doctor seems pretty mystified. Does that mean that he's the only one doing any work on it? Will it be experimental and out-of-reach forever, because it's an awkward but not life-threatening problem? It was such a breath of fresh air to read this book and truly feel that I am not alone in this struggle. I would recommend this book to any woman struggling with this condition or any family members, spouses or friends supporting a woman with this condition.
Thank you so much, Dr. Pacik for writing this book and helping women everywhere realize that they are not alone in this. As a 20 year Vaginismis sufferer, I applaud Dr. Pacik for shedding light on this condition and giving us "a voice". This condition has plague me for so long that I had given up on marriage and felt hopeless and abnormal.

The details, emotion filled recounts, medical explanations and studies and the tone of overall sensitivity shared in the book made me more self-aware, encouraged and most of all that I'm not a freak of nature and all alone. I read this book from cover to cover in one day and after which decided to have the procedure done. I can't wait to start a new chapter in my life.
I am now optimistic about my sexual future! I am so appreciative of Dr. Pacik's dedication and commitment to finding a cure and I can't wait to have my procedure in a few months! Not a lot of people understand Vaginismus, but this book allows everyone to actually understand it more. I am glad this guy found answers to helping people with Vaginismus.
