The aim of the talk was to set out evidence for the presence of large cats such as puma, lynx, and black leopards, to explain how these cats got here and to consider the implications. Before the event, Rick Minter joined Steve Kitchen on the BBC Radio Gloucestershire afternoon show and they spoke to a number of listeners who had their own sightings to share.
Last year while out walking her dog, Katharine Midgeley from Hartpurty photographed some footprints she found in a field in Pauntley. Are they the best evidence discovered so far that a Big Cat of some sort is living wild in Gloucestershire?
She told BBC Gloucestershire: I think he may have actually seen something but it was too dark for me to see anything. It reminded me of the big cat enclosure at Marwell Zoo. Big Cat expert Frank Tunbridge from Gloucester has been trying to prove the existence of a big cat in the county for a number of years, and says this latest evidence is the best he has seen.

Lee U people wudnt know a wild cat if it clawed you in the face. Get a grip the lot of you. Tabberer there,s been a black leopard living in the forest of dean for the past 8years. Impossible to be mistaken for dog prints,too big and no claw marks. It,s definately in the area at the moment. Jen What a lot of people don't even consider is that a normal wild cat can grow big, like, huge. Not as big as the photo above which I personally don't even think is feline but much bigger than a domestic cat.
