Will she muster enough courage to seek his love? Will her pride allow love after loss? I enjoyed all three stories. I like to read more light stories as I do most of my reading before bedtime and these did nicely.

Thank you for some enjoyable reading. I enjoyed this book as it was well written and was clean and christian in content. I read this whole book in one sitting. My favorite story was well, I better rephrase that and say my favorite part of Daddy's Girl was how Reverend Green ended up saving Glenna. And my favorite part in Dear Teacher was when Judith finds out who was writing the unsigned notes in the Well let's go with the worst part of this book first, the stories weren't long enough.

And my favorite part in Dear Teacher was when Judith finds out who was writing the unsigned notes in the box in her class and my favorite part in Twice loved is Christmas day. You can read my complete blog review at: Sep 03, Nellie rated it it was ok. Short, very quick read, and because of that it is lacking details, and development. It is only 91 pages. Interesting storyline, but not very satisfying. May 11, Tammy W TexasTammy rated it really liked it.

I enjoyed this book. It is a light read. This book is comprised of three short stories of historical fiction and romance. Each story is unique and easy to read. I happen to be a mom of six so I really enjoy the short stories compilations, perfect for when I have a little time to escape but not a large time commitment. This was the first book by Mrs. Brunsetter I have read. The final short story in this book was my favorite. A position in a used toy shop is an answer to prayer for Bev Winters who finds herself widowed with a young daughter after World War II. This is a story of how a widow and widower who found love once and lost their loved ones.

Will God restore their hearts and allow them to find love again. Read it and see. I recommend this book. Love Finds a Home will be released on July 1, and is available for pre-purchase now. Or is he just the answer to her prayers in other ways? Read Love Finds A Home to find out! I have to say that I was sadly disappointed. But then again, Wanda E. Brunstetter has just never been my favorite author. While in some respects most romances are very predictable, these were even more so.

Not to mention the conversations between the characters felt so forced and jilted. Nothing at all was natural about the dialogue. I also found Glenna Moore to be an irritating character. It was as if she needed a man to be ok. I much prefer reading fiction about a strong young woman who can take care of herself and ends up not with a man because she has to, but rather because she wants to and chooses to Judith King was a better character, but Wanda E.

Brunstetter has written so many stories about canal workers and romance on the canal that it feels the same as every other book I have read by her. Bev Winters was also a better character, more independent, and less naive. Overall I would say 2 out of 5 stars. Nov 19, Marcy rated it liked it Shelves: This is a collection of 3 historical stories. I truly loved the last two stories in this book of three. Daddy's Girl is about an 18 year old daughter of a gambler and drifter who may have fallen for a minister. When her card cheating father jumps off a train, and supposedly dies, she wonders what will become of her.

This is about the point where I wanted to throw this book out the window and not finish it. What continues to happen in the book is unbelievable and in my opinion not worth reading. Of course there is a happy ending which I always like. If you want to know the happy ending read the rest of the book but it is a predictable ending and left me disappointed in an author whose books I normally love. Dear Teacher is a sweet novella that I found heart warming and as a teacher something I could see happening even in Judith King is a teacher who feels she will never fall in love because of teasing and name calling she suffered when she was a child.

In this day and age of bullying in schools I loved how she was adamant that her student's would not name call or bully. She reaches out to one of the "canalers" children and turn may be falling love with him as well. His children have fallen for her and she hopes he will too.

I found this novella relate able and a quick read that was a refreshing return to the writing I love from Brunstetter. Twice Loved is a wonderful story about finding love after being widowed. While buried in the burdens of raising her daughter after the death of her husband during the attack on Pearl Harbor, Bev is let go from her job when the soldiers return from WWII. She hopes to only find a job at Twice Loved a used and refurbished toy store. Dan is still grieving for his wife who died of leukemia 2 years earlier.

He just wants someone to help him run his deceased wife's dream. What he didn't expect to happen was for Bev and her daughter Amy to change his life and bring his happiness back. They both struggle with trusting another person and Dan feels he will dishonor his wife by ever loving again. When they each find separate notes left by Dan's wife, at just the right time, to open their eyes to being Twice Loved. I loved this book and could not put it down, I read it all in one sitting and found it a great read as well as a wonderful book to read during the holidays, when it takes place.

I wanted to be out playing in the snow with the characters and found myself cheering for them to find love again. I highly recommend this book Jul 12, Patricia Bond rated it it was amazing. All because of her father's erratic gambling and drinking. One night while on the train, heading west, a gambling game of Garret Moore's goes wrong and a catastrophe happens, changing Glenna's life.

Bev answers the ad and is immediately hired by Twice Love's owner, Dan Fisher.

Love Finds a Home: 3 Historical Romances Make Falling in Love Simple and Sweet

Dan Fisher's wife died of leukemia two years before the war ended and Dan's promise to her was to keep Twice Loved, her used toy store, open. When Dan hires Bev Winters he starts to become "attached" to Bev and her daughter, Amy and shows them both much kindness. Will a relationship develop between Bev and Dan beyond "employer and employee". Will they both find happiness and love again after loss. Twice Loved was published in , as a stand alone book. I really enjoyed reading all three of the stories in Love Finds A Home. I would highly recommend reading these lighthearted stories of romance.
