Please try again later. I picked up a copy of this book as a paperback book in a bookstore in Charleston West Virginia. My interest in Robert Owen as one of the utopian socialists that influenced Karl Marx and Frederick Engels stemmed from the early s when I was studying Marx and Engels as an undergraduate. It was a grand visit and brought back a great many memories of my readings of Robert Owen. It is a treat to re-read this book after so many years to re-capture the enthusiasm of my youth.

This is a great compilation of many of Robert Owen's writings. The introduction by Claeys provides a clear and concise portrait of the man himself in his historical context. Anyone seriously interested in reforming society should read Owen. There's a problem loading this menu right now.
