But the present carers are expecting a baby and the foster mother isn't coping, so Alex goes to live with Cathy. Aged nine Joss came home from school to discover her father's suicide.

Daddy's Little Princess

She's never got over it. This is the true story of Joss, 13 who is angry and out of control. At the age of nine, Joss finds her father's dead body. He has committed suicide. Then more recently her mother remarries and Joss bitterly resents her step-father who abuses her mentally and physically.

From the author of Number One bestseller Damaged comes the poignant and shocking memoir of Cathy's recent relationship with Tayo, a young boy she fosters whose good behaviour and polite manners hide a terrible past. Tayo arrives at Cathy's with only the clothes he stands up in.

He has been brought to her by the police, but he is calm, polite, and very well spoken, and not at all like the children she normally fosters. The social worker gives Cathy the forms which should contain Tayo's history, but apart from his name and age, it is blank. In her new book, Cathy Glass, the number one best-selling author of Damaged , tells the story of the Alice, a young and vulnerable girl who is desperate to return home to her mother. Alice, aged four, is snatched by her mother the day she is due to arrive at Cathy's house.

Drug-dependent and mentally ill, but desperate to keep hold of her daughter, Alice's mother snatches her from her parents' house and disappears. The true story of Melody, aged eight, the last of five siblings to be taken from her drug dependent single mother and brought into care. Although Melody is angry at having to leave her mother, as many children coming into care are, she also worries about her obsessively — far more than is usual The heartbreaking true story of a young, troubled mother who needed help.

The 16th fostering memoir by Cathy Glass. It is the first time Laura has been out since the birth of her baby when Cathy sees her in the school playground. A joyful occasion, but Cathy has the feeling something is wrong. By the time she discovers what it is, it is too late. This is the true story of Laura, whose life touches Cathy's in a way she could never have foreseen.

Stevie, together with his younger brother and sister, have been brought up by their grandparents, as their mother is in prison.

See a Problem?

Stevie is exploring his gender identity, and like many young people he spends time online. Cathy warns him about the dangers of talking to strangers online and advises him how to stay safe. The 11th memoir and latest title from the internationally bestselling author and foster carer Cathy Glass. This book tells the true story of Cathy's adopted daughter Lucy.

Lucy was born to a single mother who had been abused and neglected for most of her own childhood. Right from the beginning Lucy's mother couldn't cope, but it wasn't until Lucy reached eight years old that she was finally taken into permanent foster care. What could cause a mother to believe that giving away her newborn baby is her only option? Cathy Glass is about to find out. From author of Sunday Times and New York Times bestseller Damaged comes a harrowing and moving memoir about tiny Harrison, left in Cathy's care, and the potentially fatal family secret of his beginnings.

Girls Wall Art, African American Art, Princess Wall Decor, Nursery

When Cathy is first asked to foster one-day old Harrison her only concern is if she will remember how to look after a baby. Cathy Glass, international best-selling author, tells the shocking story of Zeena, a young Asian girl desperate to escape from her family. When year-old Zeena begs to be taken into care with a non-Asian family, she is clearly petrified. But of what? Placed in the home of experienced foster carer Cathy and her family, Zeena gradually settles into her new life, but misses her little brothers and sisters terribly. Beth is a sweet-natured child who appears to have been well looked after.

But it isn't long before Cathy begins to have concerns that the relationship between Beth and her father is not as it should be. Little Beth, aged 7, has been brought up by her father Derek after her mother left when she was a toddler. When Derek is suddenly admitted to hospital with psychiatric problems, Beth is taken into care and arrives at Cathy's. Beth and her father clearly love each other very much and Derek spoils his daughter, treating her like a princess, but there is something bothering Cathy, something she can't quite put her finger on.

Meanwhile Cathy's husband is working away a lot and coming home less at weekends. Then, suddenly, everything changes. Events take a dramatic turn for both Beth and Cathy and her family; as Cathy strives to pick up the pieces all their lives are changed forever. This is a story about a foster child who suffered a more subtle but very damaging kind of abuse.

As with all of Cathy's books, she has a way of creating a warm feeling especially in regard to healing, family life, forgiveness and domestic life. I enjoy hearing about how her children relate to one another, how she deals with difficult situations and I honestly feel a real kinship with her on many different levels. This book goes more into her personal life than the others and I found this very comforting as I've experienced similar things. I've listened to three of Cathy's books so far, and plan to keep listening to all of her books.

I usually listen during my commute to and from work, but I find myself listening while I'm at home or whenever I can. This was another excellent book by Cathy Glass. I've read of situations like the one Beth lived with but never knew what it was called. Thankfully everone was able to get the help they needed. Again the story is written with warmth and compassion.

Another great read. I don't believe this story is real, or any of her books. A fairy tale to misguide potential Foster parents and false comfort for parents who have lost their children to the system- which is particularly corrupt in the UK. I could really put myself in the story.

Daddy’s Little Princess by Cathy Glass

I've down loaded loads of books. But this book I couldn't put down, its 1of those books that gripping from beginning to end. A brilliant account yet again made by Cathy. A good foster career who is a true inspiration. So glad Beth was able to go back to her dad etc. I never new there was such an illness as this. To help others. Well done Cathy!!! Cathy Glass's fostering memoirs are well written and very moving.

I love the little details Cathy gives tkhat has made me fall in love with each and every child she writes about and her own family. I have listened to every book at least 3 times. They give an insight into the world of fostering, adoption and parenting that has, I believed made me a better teacher and parent - more patient, more understanding and generally more aware.

Along with other fostering memoirs, these books have inspired my mum to consider a fostering carer and I hope to foster once my own children are older. Thank you Cathy and Demica. I think I have now read everyone of Cathy Glass books and every one is an emotional, eye opening read and gives anyone who is thinking of fostering a real in-site into the fostering world!

Cathy is an amazing woman and I truly do admire her love and commitment she gives to the children she has fostered. The narration is brilliant and captures the personality of both Cathy and her children so well. I love Cathy glass's books what she has done for all the children she has fostered is amazing. Brilliant book, read thoroughly and clearly. Had never trued audible before but would reccomend it. Again a fabulous story with brilliant narration, as I have not read the books in any particular order I had often wondered what lead to Cathy's divorce and have come to the conclusion that she is in far to much control, I reacted with a lot more passion when my husband had an affair and wanted a divorce.

DADDY’S LITTLE PRINCESS

Screaming like a banshee may not be helpful but with no kids around it would have helped and made her feel better. Dry, dull and boring. I love what Cathy Glass do for children. Tentative Delivery.
