The object that had caught my attention turned out to be the flatworm, Prostheceraeus bellostriatus. This beautiful flatworm is described as being up to 35mm long and 25mm wide.

It can easily be identified in the field by its unique color pattern of alternating black and white longitudinal stripes across the dorsum with an orange mid-doral and border stripe. Photographing a flatworm can be a real chore.
