A Mushroom in the Bathroom is a delightful children's book, most appropriate for children ages Indigo and her brother Amarys find a mushroom growing underneath their toilet. They tell their mother who finds a way to dispose of it. I was curious as to why and how a mushroom could be rooted in the bathroom but since this is a children's book, I don't suppose the reality of ecological correctness is that important.
The children are well-adjusted and accept the fact that their mother gets rid of the mushroom. I think that most children would enjoy this lovely book. One person found this helpful. I love Amira's book because an at first routine day eventually becomes a day of unexpected discovery. I appreciate the sibling relationship the author creates which is all at once compatible, complementary, and collaborative.
Amira writes with a simple elegance that's easy to read and easy to comprehend.
