Mehner, is visually magnificent- stunning- gorgeous- with bright vibrant colorful drawings on each page - from nineteen different artists around the world. Another book could be written on how this book came together and the many people who contributed. There are 21 poems in this collection The first half of the book takes us right to the heart of LOVE. From romantic love - passion - desire - vulnerability- to a fading love —- a lovesick heart To the darkest hours In the second half of this book - we are awakened- and reminded how beautiful simplicity is.

Dec 21, Julia Sapphire rated it really liked it Shelves: , cover-love , romance , verse. I think it's also amazing that artists from all around the world contributed. The poetry I found lyrical and beautiful. There were some in here that were standard and that I have seen many times before though.

On its first publication the Moxon Tennyson was neither a critical nor commercial success. This was in part due to the juxtaposition of radically different artistic styles and in part to its high price. It was also known that the poet did not approve of several of the Pre-Raphaelite illustrations; he thought that they exercised far too much artistic license.
