Personally I'm rooting for Derek. He such an amazing guy. I think Kylie would be lucky to have him. Lucas is good too, but he's just a little too controlling for my taste. And, of course, how could I forget Burnett and Holiday! I wish we could have had a little more interaction with them like you do in the second book, but Really makes up for it at the end! And what is with the ending?! What does it mean!!!! I need to know now!!!!

I CAN'T wait for the next book! And it's still in the writing process! How am I going to get through this wait?! I guess I'm just going to have to read all the books over and over again just to get me through it. Mar 31, Vanessa Booke rated it really liked it. Another fantastic read!

Hunter does not disappoint with the next novel in the Shadow Falls series. After a long, but exciting wait we finally find out what Kylie is! I think my favorite part about this book is that we finally see some of the Another fantastic read! I think my favorite part about this book is that we finally see some of the relationships from the previous novels develop and begin.

I highly recommend picking up the previous novels to this series and reading them before Taken at Dusk. I was thrilled to see more of Lucas and I loved that his character really opened up in this book. No need to worry about Derek! Readers will be pleasantly suprised to find out about another surprise involving him. Overall, I think this paranormal series is one of my favorite ones. Kylie is a great example of a real, complicated, yet intriguing character. Hunter does a fanastic job not only building primary, but also secondary characters throughout the novel.

Definitely pick up Taken at Dusk! If you haven't started the Shadow Falls series you're missing out! May 30, Iris rated it it was ok Shelves: read-in First of all, this damn camp. I don't see any of them doing something even remotely close to learn stuff. I hate Kylie with a passion, she's so dumb.

And I don't like Lucas, there I said it. I always prefered Derek, tbh Kylie asking Ellie about her relationship with Derek, when she obviously has no business in it. And of course Lucas view spoiler [is going to choose his pack, like, DUH hide spoiler ]. He's so sweet and nice. I already know how the series ends view spoiler [Lucas and Kylie are together I wanted Kylie with Derek, but oh well. Nov 03, Jennifer rated it liked it Shelves: para-vampires.

Crepuscular creatures and animal sleeping habits

The Good: At the last moments of the third book in the series, we finally learn what Kylie is. Pretty much. It's not like we got a clear definition, but at least we have a label of sorts. It's unexpected because, I assume it's a completely made-up by the author thing, but I could be wrong , but it's something. We get some real action and some real life and death stuff, there seems to be a definite upping of the ante.

Kylie now has a direction to focus in so there is real hope for faster paced The Good: At the last moments of the third book in the series, we finally learn what Kylie is.

Awake At Dusk

Kylie now has a direction to focus in so there is real hope for faster paced plot progression in the future. I hope. The Bad: Kylie needs to swear off dudes. She's an awful person when it comes to dating. It's not that she can't decide between the two guys, it's that she gets one and then only wants the other.

Taken at Dusk (Shadow Falls Novels)

Then she gets the other and only wants the first one. And because of this manufactured boy drama, she can't be bothered to spend her time alerting adults to her issues, learning how to harness her abilities or protect herself from danger. The world revolves around her easily-bored heart and it's one of the single most annoy things I've ever read.

Sep 20, Suzanne rated it it was amazing Shelves: vampires , werewolves. He jumped up, took one step away, then swung around and faced her again. But you deserved to know. And I needed to tell you because I've never felt this way before-for anyone. Thank you, Kylie Galen. Thank you for being my friend. Thank you for teaching me to think 4.

Jul 27, Aly rated it really liked it Shelves: audiobook , , , november Second time reading, first time reviewing I really like these books. All the different supernaturals are cool and I like the mystery of what Kylie is exactly and her finding her family. The narration on the audio is cute, I like the Texas accent the girl does. Sep 03, Caitlin Smith rated it it was ok. This instalment of the Shadow Falls series was not as enjoyable as the first two.

To start with, Kylie. My thoughts on Kylie keep changing by book. The first book in the series I found her fairly annoying, the second book I liked her considerably more, book three I was right back to annoyance. And a chameleon, really? It took three books, three books! Now, Lucas and Derek. I started this series kind of preferring Derek, then Lucas and now I just want them both to leave.

Firstly, Lucas is getting on my last nerve.

He is so possessive and how he is acting towards Kylie and what she is supernaturally. And Derek, with his stupid idiocy. Fair enough. However to then do the things he proceeded to do, he made his bed he should lie in it The first part of the book it was very present, however after that it was just kind of pushed aside until the end of the book. I just found myself getting so bored and uninterested in this book.

Oct 16, Kristen added it Shelves: young-adult , dnf. DNFing this series. I can't put myself through this. This plot just keeps going in circles though and my patience can't take no mores. It's like she tried to stretch the plot line of one book into 5 and I am dying of apathy. To start off, the beginning was a total disappointment. Here I was looking forward to the next book because of how Awake at Dawn left off, but then nothing. I just expected too much because of the last book, but still I wish that the author revealed more, since it has been left a mystery for 3 books so far.

The part where Kylie goes to confront Derek, about his little fling with a certain vampire he mentioned in the past, was a bummer. I was anticipating for Kylie to tear Derek apart, but yet To start off, the beginning was a total disappointment. I was anticipating for Kylie to tear Derek apart, but yet again Like, what the hell is up with this book. This doesn't get really interesting until Perry comes in, and he isn't even a main character.

Love that Perry made more appearances in this book. Made me hella like that shape-shifter. Kylie, Perry, or Burnett? XD hide spoiler ] Lucas. I don't really know what to say about him. He is a good-looking guy and all, but he has big family baggage, has a too close relationship with Fredericka view spoiler [ a she-wolf who he slept with in the past hide spoiler ] , and his pack does not approve of their relationship.
