Lists with This Book. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. Ok so this book was a great read, I am just not sure whether I liked it or loved it. This is a story set in the early 's which is different for me because I do not usually like historical reading but this was good. This is Deidra's story about her life as a new vampire. This was a slow read at the start but it did get better. We take the journey with Deidra as she tries to learn and discover how life as a vampire is.
Her sire Mylana leaves her and Deidra is left to wander the world by hersel Ok so this book was a great read, I am just not sure whether I liked it or loved it. Her sire Mylana leaves her and Deidra is left to wander the world by herself. She believes that she is not worthy of companionship until she comes across a girl, Breanna. This story is about the internal struggles that Deidra has with her humanity and loss of it.

She still wishes for things that she can no longer have. She wishes to be a mother even though she know's she is no longer capable of it. She loves and loose's and we take that journey with her. This story did not have as much action as I would have liked there to be. All of the most suspenseful parts were the last 15 pages.

There was alot of build up to a very unclimatic ending. I was extremely disappointed in that. The story itself was great. The book had many plot twists and stories within stories to get the full effect and background of all the main characters.
I was constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next! It was a delightful read. One person found this helpful. Right from the first chapter I couldn't put it down. The author took me through Deirdre's story so completely that I was lost in her world right to the last page. Being a fan of vampire novels I can safely say that this book pulls you into the escape fantasy writing was meant for. I'm waiting anxiously for the sequel! See all 4 reviews.
