Oct 19, Crystal Belle rated it really liked it Shelves: Although highly theoretical and academic which is why it gets 4 stars Rodriguez does an excellent job of revealing the inner workings of the prison system and its innate connection to chattel slavery and bureaucracy.

I loved the excerpts from some of the best "prison narratives" such as those of George Jackson and Angela Davis.
