Youth leagues for boys and girls basketball and cheerleading help prepare students for middle school. A community based soccer program is very popular among students and parents.
Various student interest groups are represented, including the Outdoor Adventure Club, which takes students to Yellowstone National Park.

Awards and Recognitions Cloverport has achieved unprecedented student achievement gains during the past two years, making it one of the most successful school districts in Kentucky. With this, continuous growth and development is essential. The loc al school board continuously meets with school leadership to assure that optimal student achievement is obtained. A focus on research-based curriculum and instruction is emphasized. Furthermore, the foundation for excellence continues to be the student.
Extracurricular Activities The district offers a variety of extracurricular activities for students. The administration, faculty, staff, and members of the community make every effort to recognize the accomplishments of our students. We believe affirmation and success lead to and promote additional success. We recognize students for any and all successes.
To reach this goal, the District is focusing on individual student performance. Academic progress is tracked and students are accelerated as needed. Interventions are set up for any students below grade level. Each school has developed a plan to increase student performance and close the achievement gaps. Rough River Lake is the perfect place for all water sport enthusiasts and their families. Open from May to October, the marina offers open slips, 29 open houseboat slips, 48 covered slips, a launching ramp, and rental fishing boats and pontoon boats. They also have the Lady of the Lake Boat Tours that can hold up to 40 people.
Boats are also available to rent by the hour for private business groups or families. The Cloverport Museum contains historical pictures and artifacts of Cloverport which offer a look back through time at how the county has developed over time. This museum is open to the public at no charge. Another point of interest is the Irvington Railroad Station Museum. The building served as a freight and passenger station for the community when it was operational.
It is now open the first Sunday of each month from 2 to 4 p. They still value what it means to be part of a small community and the word neighbor means more than who lives next to you. This is easy to see when looking at the number of community festivals and gatherings which take place every year. These are family oriented events that would not thrive if the communities where not as close-knit as they have continued to stay.
This county is also an outstanding place to participate in high adventure camping activities. This gives people a chance to experience the real sided of nature, first hand, in a way that only the unspoiled back country of Kentucky can give them.
This includes boating, skiing, fishing, etc. Anglers who come here to fish have up to six different types of fish in the waters. They have everything from bluegill and bass to catfish and crappie. In short, most fishermen can find something they like about this area.
After all this, it almost sounds like this county is just small towns which may be behind the curve of modernization. This is not true. They simply have managed to maintain the community outlook and values that out parents speak of having back in their younger days. The best way to sum up the cultural views of the citizens of Breckinridge County would be to say, this county offers the same amenities and services as large cities while maintaining that small town feeling.
They have it all from a day of relaxing on the lake to shopping for the family. But it is not just the services that make this culture. It could not be maintained without the members of the community keeping these values and respecting one another.

It is located in the Western Coal Field region of the state. Our north-central Kentucky location means easy access to many major Kentucky cities. Grayson County is just 77 miles southwest of Louisville and miles north of Nashville, Tennessee, while St. Louis, Missouri is just miles northwest. Commercial airline service at Louisville International Airport is just over an hour away. Other developments leaving their mark on Grayson County have been the construction of the railroad through the county in and the completion of the progressive Western Kentucky Parkway through the county in The elevation in the county ranges from to feet above sea level.

Leitchfield The town was established in on land donated by the widow of David Leitch, and was named for him. An earlier settlement in the area was known as Shaw's Station.
