On the Brink of Tomorrow: Frontiers of Science by Derek DeSolla Price

After conceiving the core of the story and putting together a lengthy synopsis, The Brink of Tomorrow sat on the shelf for several years with what seemed intractable story problems. Then, while drifting off to asleep late one night -- after writing into the wee hours on another novel -- inspiration suddenly hit and served him with a comprehensive solution to the intractable story problems of The Brink of Tomorrow.

Suddenly wide awake, Ken got up and started jotting the solution on 3x5 cards. Well into the next day he jotted ideas and scenes on cards, ultimately bringing the whole story into full view. The story you will read is the result of that inspiration. Would you like to tell us about a lower price? See a Problem?

Halfway through the book, I found myself looking forward to the fictional 9pm start of Dale's spiritually elevating broadcast, and had also by that point developed a strong empathy for the young sage as he struggled to overcome his own mental and physical challenges. I you liked 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull', you'll like this unusual yet insightful story. I found this book to be far greater than I thought it was going to be. I was joyfully surprised about how well it was written, and the philosophical value that permeated through nearly every chapter.

The story was exciting and it kept you wanting more as you followed the main character through one challenge and another. After reading it I recommended it to all of my family and friends and even bought additional copies to share with others. I sincerely believe that anyone reading this story will benefit far beyond the time and money they invest. My personal thanks to Ken for creating something that makes life better for us all. May the book become a best seller, and may it then be made into a highly successful feature film that spreads the value to millions.

On the Brink of Tomorrow by Ken Gullekson is a fascinating yarn which hold you in suspense from beginning to end. More than that, it contains wisdom in generous amounts without being in the least preachy. The concept of a young man with extremely serious birth defects requiring a fair amount of isolation from peers, school, etc being raised with so much self esteem and knowledge of life as to be able to share it generously with callers in a radio talk show format is a compelling idea all by itself.

Add to that the kind of charisma which makes strangers love you by your words alone and you have an amazing piece of literature. I could not put it down personally and am now recommending it to my hypnosis and coaching clients. An extremely good read!
