Omri Katz, who played Max a. It's unclear what he's doing for work these days, but according to Instagram account, he's into wakesurfing, motorcycles and his pit bull puppy. Vinessa Shaw, who played Max's love interest Allison, is still acting, but has recently added another role to her resume: mom. The actress welcomed a baby boy in March.

You've seen Billy Butcherson way more recently than you probably realized. Thackery Binx! Actor Sean Murray only appeared in the beginning and end of the film, but played an important part nonetheless. Who can forget the "Hocus Pocus" character with the word "Ice" shaved into the side of his head? The other bully in the film, Jay, is played by Tobias Jelinek.

Jelinek has guest-starred on hit shows including "Shameless," "Stranger Things," "Baskets" and, most recently, appeared in Paramount's "American Woman. Charles Rocket played Dani and Max's father in the hit Halloween film. The actor died by suicide in Garry Marshall had an uncredited role as the devil. Garry's sister Penny Marshall also appeared in "Hocus Pocus," playing the devil's wife.

He stumbled at the piano bench and fiddled with the microphone to get it to his level. He was getting to be a pro at this, years of recitals in the book. We were nearing the end when the man got up. Singing and playing. He adjusted the mike to his hight, nearly tipping over the piano bench. The kids before him were pint sized, performing mostly Christmas carols to beaming parents. As soon as his fingers hit the keys it was clear to see how nervous he was. His hands were shaking.
At first a slight tremor and then, shakiness that he was struggling to control. The melody was haunting. Anyone in the audience could see how difficult it was for him. How much he was concentrating to bring the chords together. I felt this deep in my gut. When I was a little girl I performed many weekends. Paralyzed by fear, I stood in front of the audiences of seniors who had moved to Florida for the sun and played Count Basie songs on my clarinet and later saxaphone.
Once a reed broke and the noises that came out of the clarinet were so God awful. A sense of failure and shame washed over me. My eyes welled watching this man. What does it take to get up in front of an audience of strangers and do the hard things? I walked up to him afterwards to say thank you. To tell him that he had given us all a gift that day by having the nerve to get up there and perform like that. The singing he was used to, he told me — he was actually a gigging musician. The first time I went on it it was with My Story, in which Sondra plays a huge role, and the second time was talking about one of my favorite subjects: sober travel.
Each time I do a podcast I think I get a little more grounded and clear. But that could be because I am more grounded and clear since I started doing interviews like these. And this one is with two of my favorite people. I feel more comfortable sharing with these ladies, and by extension, with you, because of our deep and shared history. They inspire me to be a more creative and healthy woman and leader each day, and I hope our conversation inspires you too.
