I'm afraid that it is a case of what can go wrong when you tell a story by making the worst things happen to your characters the more of plot advancement. The "Burlesque Autobiography" is a mildly funny little piece about Twain's fictitious family tree. I liked the second story better : "An awful, terrible, medieval Romance".
