Description

The many black-and-white action photographs allow readers to see each exercise, drill, or play under discussion. Weatherspoon also includes stories about her family and the sport that she loves. She emphasizes that she has bad days on the court and that every mistake should teach a lesson. Miller and Wayne Coffey's Winning Basketball for Girls Facts On File, has much of the same information, the personal anecdotes and up-to-date photographs make this title especially appealing.

An excellent resource for sports collections.

Teresa Weatherspoon's basketball for girls /

She was on two U. It was the only book I could find that was aimed at girls and appropriate for her age 12 and elementary to intermediate level.

Clear, concise and my grand daughter liked it. She is a sport nut and basketball is her favorite sport to participate in. This was a gift.

This is by far the best basketball instruction book I have seen to this date. Complete with wonderful and touching anectdotes about her life, Teresa Weatherspoon's book could help anyone learn the ways of the game. The book is fun to read, hard to put down, and has become an immediate resource for me when either playing or watching a game.

Included you will find helpful workout hints, as well as the specific workout routine of the New York Liberty players. This book will definitely encourage kids to believe in themselves and to go for what they want. Forget the obstacles and believe. Probably the best instructional book on the market today. Thanks for writing it Spoon. Thanks for writting this book T-Spoon!!! I am one of your BIGGEST fans and i just wanted to say that this book not only helps with the fundamentals of basketball, but it gives us an inside look at the person we really want to know This book is great for women of all ages and i can't wait to show this to the rest of my teammates so that they can not only learn some great tips on life and basketball, but so they can also come to know and love the player that i admire so much What a fun book!

The skills she teaches in the book are wonderfully presented but what makes this book special is her inspirational comments about teamwork, success and family.

It's great to have a book just for girls, and with the success of the WNBA it's about time! Even if you are not into playing basketball, it makes great reading for someone who just wants to watch and appreciate the game. I can't wait to buy copies for my nieces.
