This caused problems for us with trying to get our tent to fit within the marked pitch lines as we had worked it out based on a pitch of 8m x 8m. The pitches were incredibly close together, with no gaps marked at all. It was similar to Glastonbury, with tents and cars jammed together. We had no view of anything except our car and other people's tents. The first night we were there, I took my youngest daughter into the shower at 7pm and found it to be disgusting. I would not have allowed my dog to shower there, let alone my children. The floor was covered in mud, huge balls of hair and scum were blocking the drain and a used sanitary tampon had been left The floor was covered in mud, huge balls of hair and scum were blocking the drain and a used sanitary tampon had been left on the floor.

None of the hair had been cleaned from the drains and the shower was still filthy. This shows that either you the showers are cleaned less than once every 24 hours or that the cleaner was so bad she ignored the used tampon lying on the shower floor!!!!

We abandoned the idea of a shower and tried to use the toilet. I opened the toilet door and found faeces heavily smeared over the floor, door and toilet seat. I complained to reception about the filthy showers and was informed that "Vince will be told about it". We could not use the indoor swimming pool as it shut every time it reached it's capacity of 40 people. Every day we tried to use the pool, only to find the sign up stating no more guests could be fitted in. The park states it can take people so a swimming pool that only takes 40 guests seems rather inadequate.

THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST OR THE APOCALYPSE

We used the outdoor pool instead but could not use the changing rooms as they were also filthy. The stated policy of immediately evicting guests using foul language or causing disturbance was not adhered to. Every night we lay awake in our tent listening to other guests swearing, shouting and playing loud music. I complained to reception, and also contacted security several times during the night.

The security team were very nice and friendly but said they had to give noisy guests three chances before they could evict them from the site!! The people in the tent next to us constantly played loud bass music from their car radio and refused to turn it down when we asked them politely. One night we had to listen to 2 hours of one family drinking and swearing, which went on until well after midnight. I was very distressed that my 3 young children had to listen to such disgusting language and could not get to sleep.

Overall, the park just looked like a giant concrete carpark. Cars were squished in untidily along the roads and paths. Very few people stuck to the 5mph speed limit, most especially the staff vehicles.

We were constantly pulling our children out the way of speeding car and vans. By the middle of the week we were so upset with the conditions at the park that we tried desperately to find alternative accomodation elsewhere. Unfortunately everywhere was booked up so we had to stay and suffer at Searles. We asked at reception if we could move our tent to a quieter, cleaner location within the park but were told this was not possible. I can honestly say it was the worst holiday we have ever had. We were so relieved to get home, use our clean bathroom facilities and enjoy some peace and quiet.

We had looked forward to our summer holiday all year but it was totally ruined by the terrible conditions at this leisure resort. I wanted to give Searles a fair chance to explain, apologise and offer compensation before leaving a Trip Advisor review. I emailed Searles 29 days ago with my complaint, but have heard absolutely nothing in response.

Not Your Grandparent’s Hearing Aid

I have made 5 follow up phone calls and each time have been told that someone will call me back. So far they never have. I find it rude beyond belief that no-one has the decency to even acknowledge my email. Our next step will be to complain to the Visit England tourism board, to ask why this park has been given a 5 star rating.

Filthy Hot and Loud (Noise #1)

If you are looking to book your family's holiday here, please look elsewhere and avoid this filthy, noisy, overcrowded and poorly managed park. Thank you for taking the time to write this review. The Stables Field is the additional field that we open during main school holiday periods to allow more guests to holiday with us. The price of these pitches are discounted to take into account the area of the park that they are situated. With regards to the other issues you have stated. We feel these will need further investigation and would appreciate if you could please contact us direct so we can discuss these further with you.

We must apologise if Searles did not meet your expectations and hope to be in contact with you soon. Yours sincerely, Searles. Went camping for a long weekend to Searles in Hunstanton, and had a lovely time! The pitch was massive, we easily fit a 8 man tent and a 2 man tent - as well as two cars and still had plenty of room.

We was in the Paddock, which was a 5 min walk to the facilities, but was worth camping there because of the amount of space we got. There was a lot of families camping with small children completely excepted since it is a family resort so ear plugs is a must! The facilities made the camping pretty much a luxury. The toilets and showers were spacious and clean, as well as very warm! Made a 2am loo break a pleasant experience! The evening entertainment was ok, could have been better but gave us something to do in the evenings and kept us warm for a little while.

Trying To Preserve Your Hearing In Noisy World

The swimming pool was small and over crowded with lots of families and children, but the Jacuzzi and sauna was lovely. The location is brilliant as it's such a short walk away from the beach, and about a 10 min walk from the main town in Hunstanton. Also, a Tesco is right outside of Searles - making a cheap drink and grub very easy to get! Overall it made for a very cheap weekend away, with plenty to do and top class facilities. Our Touring Warden and his team work hard to ensure the touring area is kept up to the highest standards.

The paddock area that you mentioned does house our larger pitches and is very popular so if you would like to stay in that area again we would recommend you book early and fix your pitch.

Details of how to do this are on our website. We are really pleased you enjoyed your holiday with us and very much look forward to welcoming you back to Searles soon. Kindest regards, Searles. We have been coming to searles with our tent and caravan for 9 yrs now just for long week end breaks the pitches are a good size you must though make sure you book the right size for your caravan or motorhome nearly all pitches have hedges that divide each pitch except the cheaper pitches. There are 2 club houses to choose from in high season the sundowner gets packed but if you just want a drink there is the fountain bar and the mariners bar this bar has entertainment as well staff all very friendly and helpful.

We have never had problems at this site and would recommend it to any caravaner. We rely on such feedback to encourage new holiday makers to book with us. We are really pleased you have enjoyed holidaying with us over the past 9 years and very much look forward to welcoming you back to Searles soon.

Just got back from 4 day break at Searles we were lucky enough to have some lovely weather which always helps. We only used the fish and chip shop for food which was very good and speedy on the other occasions we went to 'The Honeypot' just across the road from the camp which was very good. The entertainment was mixed some poor, and others Pat Martin was very good.
