We met Sofie in the first book, but only heard about Donovan and his bad boy ways. At all. Fast forward seven years and Donovan is back, but he has no intentions to stay in a place that has such bad memories for him. However, I eventually found her to be a quite likeable. And Donovan, despite his super jerk of a move in the beginning, I really liked him too.
His grouchiness was actually kind of funny, especially when it came to the other guys. Lemmon does a great job when it comes to chemistry between the characters. Okay, okay … so the book does start off on the steamy side, but still. They had me swooning, laughing, and rooting for them the whole time. The characters overlap and are really integrated in each others lives. Donovan and Connor are definitely my favorites and made me chuckle the most, though.
Now I for sure need to read them and get the full story for all of those characters. Anyway, Rescuing the Bad Boy was a total delight!

Bad boys seems to hold a special place in my heart, so when the opportunity arose to read Donovan and Sofie's story, I jumped at the chance. Rescuing the Bad Boy is a book about second chances. Sofie and Donovan knew each other when they were younger and she had a huge thing for him. He was always drawn to her, but knew she was a "good girl," and he definitely was anything but 4.
He was always drawn to her, but knew she was a "good girl," and he definitely was anything but good, so he stayed away. One night changed everything for them, ending on a very bad note. Because of his past, Donovan has been a runner, and ran away from the town and family that had done him so wrong.
Now, 7 years later, Donovan is forced back into town on family business and right back into the path of Sofie Martin. A charity event forces them to work together and the attraction that Donovan felt for Sofie 7 years ago, is even stronger than he remembered. Donovan broke Sofie's heart all those years ago, so she is determined to stay away from him, a feat that proves to be much easier said than done.

As these two work together, they get to know each other better and Sofie learns about Donovan's past and the reason why he is the way he is. Still oozing with sex appeal and hottness, she finds herself once again falling for this bad boy that she also would love to save. Rescuing the Bad Boy is fun, romantic, and proves to be one of those stories that you just want to curl up into your chair and relax with, tuning the world and all its goings on out for a few hours. Jessica Lemmon has done an excellent job of taking a story concept that is far from new, adding her own twist while creating memorable and engaging characters that you just can't help but love.
She hen mixes it with humor, romance, chemistry, and some serious issues as well, creating a fresh and entertaining story that contemporary romance fans will love.

My heart was happy for Donny and Sofie after finishing up Rescuing the Bad Boy and can't wait for more from this series! I honestly didn't know if I would enjoy the second book in the Second Chance series as much as I did the first one, but Jessica Lemmon managed to blow my expectations right of the water.
I absolutely loved reading every minute of it, and couldn't have been happier with the outcome.

I completely fell in love with Sofie and Donovan, and I loved their personalities and "Rescuing the Bad Boy" was truly amazing and I completely fell in love with the storyline and characters from the very beginning. I completely fell in love with Sofie and Donovan, and I loved their personalities and chemistry together.
They were a perfect match and I am so thrilled to have been able to read their incredibly heartwarming and romantic story.
I definitely had a lot of feels in this book. The ending was perfect and I thought the epilogue was the icing on the Devil Dog cake. Apr 05, Victoria Cavill rated it liked it. I mean it was like he bailed on ten year relationship or something. I think the hero had a much more intimate relationship with Denial than our heroine.
And, the end was not-so-grand. Frankly, the book was like opening a champagne. All that good fuzz and then it just 3 Stars..! All that good fuzz and then it just fizzles out. I expect a lot more from Asher and Glo's story Damn it! I deserve a good one..!!

Mar 24, Bibliojunkies rated it really liked it. This was my first Jessica Lemmon book. Lemmon are besties I was easily persuaded to try out Rescuing the Bad Boy. Sophie would love nothing more than to forget the night she lost her virginity. It was amazing and horrendous. But the horrible outweighed the good and, seven years later, not thinking about it is completely working for her.
But then Donovan Pate walks into her office and the past comes crashing back. Donovan Pate wants absolutely nothing to do with Evergreen Cove. A charity dinner that not only raises money for a group home for abused kids but is also planned by the local event planner. The never forgotten no matter how much he tries , Sofie Martin. So he agrees to hold off on selling the house until the charity dinner is done.
Over the next few months Sofie and Donovan skirt each other at the Pate Mansion. Sofie planning a party and Donovan cleaning it out and fixing it up for its new owner.
