These advantages are more tangible than just recognizing that a major advantage to be- ing homosexual — for homosexu- als — is that it is, for them, the most satisfactory of sexu- al orientations.
It goes fur- ther. There is, for one thing, e- conomic freedom far in excess of that enjoyed by heterosexu- als of comparable income le- vels. The same income can barely stretch to support a wife and children, all of whom would be probably overcrowded in a mediocre apartment.
Two single males, or fe- males, can often share an a- partment enjoying luxury nei- ther one could afford alone.

The principle is old: two can live cheaper together than they can separately. There is also freedom of mo- bility. If you want to move from one city to another, from one job to another, from one home to another you have fewer problems doing it alone. No one need be consulted except yourself. No one else has to be pleased. The third freedom is sexual. Heterosexual wives and homo- sexual lovers certainly offer the advantage of always being there when the urge strikes, but they also inhibit the very natural male urge for sexual variety.
The ideal of course is to have a lover who is willing to permit you the same range of extra tricks he al- lows himself. The fourth freedom is affec- tional or personal. The het- erosexual marriage is weighted fov the female and against the male. It is often the case that heterosexual males feel and are, in fact, trapped in a marriage from which much of warmth and affection have long withered. The homosexual is spared these particular op- pressions. Is homosexuality, therefore, better than heterosexuality?
Of course not. But to regard homosexuality as without ad- vantages is as inaccurate as considering heterosexuality as the only satisfactory sexual orientation.
