'03 Bonnie & Clyde

Some How Some Way. A Ballad for the Fallen Soldier. Verified Artists All Artists: She seems to have appeared from out of nowhere and wormed her way into Matthew's life, but with her, there's no such thing as coincidences. Gloriana McCrae is a world-famous gospel recording artist who is away on tour, perhaps, more than she should be. She's Matthew's devoted wife and the secret obsession of Cooper St. James, her equally famous best-friend and frequent tour partner. He's been patiently waiting for the right time to make his move on Gloriana, and Matthew unwittingly hands him his chance on a silver platter.

Things take a drastic turn when Matthew gets caught in his lies, Cooper makes his move, and Aston takes her game to the next level.

A deceptively sinister partnership is the source of more than enough heartache and, eventually, the necessary occurs. Sloan expertly blends contemporary and semi-Christian fiction, and the result is a satisfying read. Her style is non-preachy with a little steam on the side; not every writer could pull that off as successfully as she has.

I never read a book twice here is an exception. I read like a scandalous soap.

EPISODE 8: RADICAL FORGIVENESS, LET THE NECESSARY OCCUR — Brown Girl Alchemy

If you're looking for a stress reliever, here you go. Well written and well paced. Here's hoping the 'muse' will inspire a sequel. If you're a Mary Morrison fan, pick this one up too. This is my first time reading the book, as well as the author. It was a good read and showed being a Christian doesn't mean that you aren't human, make mistakes and fall short. Gayle Jackson Sloan penned a beautiful love story about having God and Love you can always with hard work you can find your way back to each other.

This is may second read by this author I also read and enjoyed Saturday's Child. See all 17 reviews. Most recent customer reviews.

Gayle Jackson Sloan is a native of Philadelphia, but has lived in various places and has traveled extensively, helping to fuel her imagination for the people and places in her novels. Gayle has loved to read and write since she was four years old. Growing up, she used to write volumes of poetry that was inspired by the syncopated rhythms of Maya Angelou and the freestyle of Nikki Giovanni. Life, h Gayle Jackson Sloan is a native of Philadelphia, but has lived in various places and has traveled extensively, helping to fuel her imagination for the people and places in her novels.

Life, however, has a way of sometimes getting in the way and she put aside her poetry to raise her daughter. Encouraged by her mother and husband, she started two books that were still languishing in the bottom of a drawer.

However, it wasn't until the passing of her beloved mother that she finally finished her first novel, Saturday's Child, which she first self-published. Amid personal tragedies, upheavals, and general chaos, she struggled tenaciously to finish her second novel, Wednesday's Woes , which is a follow up -- not a sequel -- to her first novel.
