Even the gods need to shed some light on their own affairs and dealings, and this book really hits the mark with more subjective information presented as more or less in a diary type fashion. The gods too are not beyond scrutiny and were not safe once Christianity came into play, and this is an incredible supplemental read that divulges even the hobby of mythol If you feel like picking up a fantastical story that is easy to read and want to shed light on Odysseus's adventures, then have no fear.

Readers who love mythology will love this one.

What a great spin on mythology! I loved that the author took Athena and made the story come alive. There are so many different gods and goddesses and the main ones make an appearance in this book. There are some lovely twists in the book and while Athena can get herself into trouble, she does find ways to get herself out of them. I would definitely recommend this book to lovers of mythology.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review. It's a quick fun read and I really enjoyed this take on greek mythology from athena's point of view. We follow Athena through thousands of years from her birth to the decline of the greek gods.
It will give you a brief background of the timeline of the greek gods and some of the mythology but the author is more interested in Athena as a character and person than going over greek mythology again and she does change the story up all of which I like. Sep 22, Jana rated it really liked it. I really enjoyed this quick read. It took me a bit to get into it, but at some parts I couldn't stop reading. It sure is an interesting interpretation of history. Unfortunately the ending came a bit sudden as if the author wasn't in the mood to get more detailed.
There was a lot more potential to it. All in all though, it was an entertaining read. Nice A good history based book with much humor added. I enjoyed a behind the scenes look at history's greatest hits through Athena's eyes. A nice, light read with wonderful voice. This book was a genuine pleasure to read. I absolutely loved this book.

We can only show our understanding in your time of sadness. It is unfair that these beautiful souls are in our lives for too short of a time.

Athena has been such a fighter through so much. And so have you. So sorry for your loss, Laird. I asked about Athena when you were on The Lovecraft eZine and it caused some emotional distress for you. I felt very bad about that. I know that your love for her runs deep and she will be in your heart till the end of days. James and I, with pups Desmond and Honeyboy, send our love to all of you. We lost our basset, Roscoe, and year ago, and we of course still talk to him.

Sending prayers for comfort and peace. Your love and friendship was a precious, beautiful thing. Animals hold such a special place in our lives and hearts. You have given her an amazing life. My heart breaks reading this and my mind travels to my own experiences. This is a unique kind of grief…one that pet lovers understand. Take some modicum of comfort that you and yours are surrounded by empathetic hearts.

Regardless, every day I savor the time with my little guy. And when Logan dies my grief will know no bounds. Thank you for giving us a glimpse into your life with Athena. By sharing, you helped others deal with their own losses both in the past and, in my case, the future. Athena would be proud of you. Your compassion for this brave canine, who left you too soon, speaks volumes. Laird, I am so very sorry for your loss. I know how much Athena meant to you. I am going through a difficult time in my life; I am not sure i could make it without my own girl, Rosie.
