The Bureau of Alien Affairs needed a special GEP agent with empathic abilities to handle their most extraordinary assignments—and a rogue geneticist saw to it that Kiera fit their specifications. But she turned out stronger, faster, smarter, and more impervious to harm than anyone anticipated.

A reluctant "superhero," Kiera wishes she were normal, but it is not to be. On Orpheus Two, the indigenous Buri race faces extinction, a prospect the powerful Dynatec corporation welcomes and, in fact, may be actively hastening. It is Kiera's job to protect these beautiful, exotic aliens. But the magnetic allure of Thor, the breathtaking Buri leader, is proving a dangerous distraction. And now, to save Thor's people, Kiera will need a power she's never before possessed—something hidden in the unexplored recesses of her heart.

Jun 21, Brownbetty rated it it was ok Shelves: This is a pretty dumb book. It frequently gave me the desire to enrol the author in a remedial tenth-grade science course. But at least it's inoffensively dumb? Which means she has all sorts of abilities normal GEPs don't have: So, she gets sent to this planet to discover why the natives are not reproducing, and to save them from a company which wants to claim the planet when the natives die out. There, she discovers they are not merely natives, but Noble Savages tm! Noble, hot Savages, Aryan Ubermenschen, one of whom she accidentally marries.

I don't know why she's so surprised by this, my extensive study of SGA fanfiction indicates this occurs in roughly half of all first contact situations. So, yeah, telepathic giant cat companion, surprise! I don't mind if the science is all handwaving, but if you're going to handwave everything, please don't use science-words I know the actual meaning of. Oct 01, Yune rated it did not like it Shelves: I was pointed to this as a solid sf romance. I think the "sf" should be kindly removed, at least where "solid" is concerned.

And we're talking a soft science, basic field anthropology. Kiera is your typical genetically enhanced human with super strength and empathic psychic abilities, self-described as a "blonde bombshell" in this first-person-narrated tale -- yup, right on the first page. But of course she suffers from a terrible sense of loneliness, since even among genetically engineered folks I was pointed to this as a solid sf romance.

But of course she suffers from a terrible sense of loneliness, since even among genetically engineered folks she's extra special, and there's no one quite like her, oh woe. This is accomplished by not taking genes from normal people and tinkering with them, but -- revolutionary! Her job is to ensure that natives on newly re- discovered planets aren't unfairly taken advantage of by various private companies who are greedy for resources or colonization space. She is, we're assured, the very best agent at this function.

Yet when she encounters the so-called aliens on the current planet of interest all of whom are basically over-six-foot-tall hunks, actually described to look like "holovid stars," and who run around in loincloths , her first act is to approach one despite his growling and tense stance. Of course when she ignores these signs and steps even closer, he charges her "without further warning. She proceeds to intimidate him and beat another one in a fight, then hopes that she'll be able to maintain good relations with the rest of the group.

Then she makes food for them, some instant berries in chocolate sauce and whipped cream. Because if this is a primitive people of course we want to feed them multiple bowls of super-sweet stuff, to the point of encouraging them to come back for more dessert the next day! When she meets the leader, she decides not to give him food, but a bath. She literally thinks, Please, please, please don't let them have a nudity taboo, even as she strips in front of him and the other guys.

If she's worried about it, maybe she shouldn't get naked with the dude in a pool and soap him all over?

And when she can't pronounce his name, she insists on renaming him using a consonant that these people don't have in their language, and once communication is established they all mangle this unpronounceable name when talking to her and referring to the guy. Great way to respect other species and let them know of their rights while keeping their dignity. I'm sure the romance will rock some people's boat -- typical psychic soul-bonding stuff with a fierce warrior guy -- but I never found any of the characters interesting and I haven't even mentioned the not-too-bright supposedly intelligent ship AI or the intelligent giant cat who accompanies, protects, and even understands her despite being of a purportedly dull species , and the entire setup was so contrived that I can't say I enjoyed this one at all.

Sep 18, Lyndi W. Interesting story, it was a engaging read. I wanted to throttle Keira quite often, but she acknowledged her shortcomings so quickly, I couldn't stay upset. The "Big Secret" that everyone is trying to figure out ends up being explained so poorly that I basically had to just brush it off and pretend it made sense so I could finish the story. And the ending is super rushed and oddly cobbled together. Now, would I recommend the book? It was entertaining and even though it had some issues, I enjoyed it.

I DNF'd the other book in this series, but if this author has any other sci-fi books, I'm definitely interested. Mar 23, Ruby rated it liked it. Are you a fan of Anne McCaffrey with her ships that speak, and races that seem to mean more than meets the eye? How about a heroine that is genetically engineered to protect that which she is swore to protect and that was satisfied with traveling the cosmos with her ship until fate lad her to the burly arms of a tribal man?

Well, look no further than the debut novel of Katherine Allred, Close Encounters. Their job is to search for new life forms, map new planets, and basically trek through the galaxy. Though Kiera is okay with her life, the longing to be normal eats at her, even though she is very special indeed. When a call comes in from her maker, Daniels, Kiera jumps at the chance to save a race and see why a major corporation has taken such an interest in a planet. What she finds is a primitive race that is gentle and may just be what she has been looking for, even though she might just have to fight to save it.

As I started this novel, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I am not a big sci fi fan, though I did enjoy Anne McCaffrey and others like her. This book, though, truly surprised me. Reading like an urban fantasy with lush environments and memorable characters that draw you in, Allred emerses her readers into a place where those wanting good plot get it and those wanting a romance with action are equally satisfied. With scenes that are violent and others that will take your sexual breath away, this is definitley for the older reader, but is definitely worth a read or two.

Even if you are not into sci fi and like the feel of urban fantasy, this book might appeal to you. So, take a ride on a ship called Max and enjoy the creative mind of Katherine Allred in Close Encounters Apr 18, Virgil Fuqua rated it liked it. Okay folks Katherine is a good writer. She has written mainly Romance stories as far as I can determine till this one.

I'm basing this on the list of books on her web site. From reading her excerpts from her other works, and this one I'm reviewing I can determine that she writes well. She catch me the reader attention and hold it. Why then the three stars and not better? One of the criteria a writter she stick with is write about what you know. This story C Okay folks Katherine is a good writer. This story Close Encounter, really tells you what its about with it title. But there is a lot more then just meeting an alien race. This story is far into our on future. Out heroine is a artifical person gene engineer.

Find, go premise for a SciFi story. Especially now when we can see the possiblity of this happening. I really liked Kiera and Max the talking spaceship. The story weave environment, people and technology into a whole mix that is interesting. So far nothing here to make this story so poorly rated. In Katherine had stuck with these things everything would of been good. I would of gave her at least 4 stars for the good mix of science fiction and romance. But like Susan Grant stories she does not know astrophysic.

As long as she stuck to biology she was doing good. But she can't tell the difference between solar systems and galaxies!!!!! She uses the terms interchangeably. Every time she knock me out of my state of suspension of disbelief. It was like walking down a sidewalk and have a tree limb fall on you. Now the story without these faluts was pretty good. As a science fiction if you are going to be talking about solar systems, galaxies and star travel you need to know what you are talking about.

I really hated this as she did not need these subjects mentioned in the story at all. They were just icing to the background but were so blantantly wrong that they knock stars off my rating. The story writing was so good that I will pick up the 2nd in a book store just to see if she has learn her lessons. But for now this is only a 3 star book.

15 Of The Best Alien Books: Invasion Stories, Encounters, And Beyond

The first book in the Alien Affairs series by Katherine Allred. Kiera Smith is a GEP, not a natural. Meaning she was created in a lab versus born of a woman and man. But she was created superior. Now she is indentured to Alien Affairs and sent to Orpheus Two to investigate claims that the indigenous people are dying out.

A company named Dynatec is laying claim on the planet and one has to wonder why. Once there Kiera meets the Buri people. Thor, the name Kiera gives the Buri man that Kiera is attracted to, appears to be the leader. Communication is difficult at first but Kiera is determined to learn the truth behind all the mysteries of the Buri people and Orpheus Two.

I have read a few of Ms. Allred's contemporary romances and liked them. So when I found she wrote Sci-fi romance I was excited to see how they were.

The heroine is no simmering miss. She is strong and superior to everyone she meets. But all she really wants is to be normal. It was written from the first person point of view of the heroine so we never get to get inside the minds of the hero or the Buri people. Well, we sort of do but not in the way that truly satisfied me. But I will continue this series. Nov 23, Laura rated it it was ok Shelves: This has been on and off my to-read list several times.

I keep adding it when I get in the mood for something science fiction related but then end up taking it off again. I finally made the attempt and sadly this just isn't for me. It is kind of cheesy in the way that lots of romance novels are but had there been a better story in there somewhere I might have at least finished it, but I just kept putting it down. I just kept rolling my eyes. The heroine was This has been on and off my to-read list several times. The heroine was a genetically modified super-human but instead of using her powers for good she used her powers to annoy me.

She was unforgivably smug and she was just better than everyone else. I didn't sympathize with her. I didn't root for her. I wasn't interested in reading a steamy sex scene in which she was featured. I would probably have just given this one star but I reserve one star reviews for books I hate. I didn't care about this particular heroine or her story enough to hate her. I just wasn't interested in finding out what happens, which insignificant events led up to HEA with baby. Aug 17, Carolyn F. The cover - eh - but the book was great. Kiera is a super human brewed up in a laboratory by an evil genius of course.

She's sent to new planets when there are claims by companies to take over the planet and to see if all claims are legitimate. She's sent to Orpheus Two and learns all kinds of fascinating stuff. What caught me first was the blurb - I have an interest in genetic-engineering, nothing too scientific, more along the lines of how manipulating traits and giving a character certain talents or enhanced abilities would play out within the context of a story.

Would the character see them as a strength or weakness? How would other characters view the same? How would something like that impact a story line? Allred's heroine - Keira Smith - is a GEP, a genetically engineered person a woman grown in a laboratory. She has a host of superior physical abilities but even more advanced than you average GEP.

So much so she views herself as a freak among freaks and sees it as a disadvantage in a universe that already sees her kind as unusual. The story revolves around her coming to realise and accept these super-abilities, she's the key to saving an indigenous race threatened with genocide from a powerful corporation driven by greed and profit. The world-building and the complexities of the external plot were compelling but it was Allred's character that sucked me into the pages. I couldn't put the book down and read it in a night.

If you're looking for a good SFR sci-fi romance book then check out this series! Sep 22, Mike rated it liked it. You have to go into this book being clear on what it is: If you know much science, particularly biological science, set it aside; you'll be much happier without it for the duration.

The slightly Mary Sue-ish Keira beautiful and kickass, but what heroine isn't these days? Recommended for a rainy afternoon or to read at the beach while unwinding. Jan 17, Kimberly rated it it was ok Shelves: I wanted to like this book, but I just couldn't. Characters were flat and one-dimensional, and the main character I found quite unlikable. As far as SciFi Romance goes, I've definitely read better. I won't be continuing this series.

Apr 30, Katie babs rated it it was ok. Close Encounters takes place a few hundred years in the future. Science and technology has evolved and space travel is the norm. Natural Humans are called Naturals. When GEPs were created, there were some prejudices against them.

But bigotry can not be erased, it just goes into hiding, so says Kiera Smith who is a GEP and quite the blonde bombshell. She is owned by the Bureau of Alien Affairs. Kiera is different from the other GEPs because she is stronger, faster, can heal quickly and is an empath.

Her job is keep watch over big trade companies that try to take over a planet and the species that live there. After a new species is located and studied, Kiera will make sure they know their rights under to Equality Edict. Kiera has a lot of power in her hands because she is the one to decide if the trade company can take control of the planet or allow the species there to decide what should happen. The species on Orpheus Two are the Buri and there are barely seventy of these creatures who have an extremely low birthrate. Kiera has two months to make a decision. She has to figure out why the Buri are not having offspring and if there is anything they can do to stop their extinction.

The Buri are much like the caveman of old with their loincloths and long hair. The men are big and tall but very good looking. They also have no use for technology and live off the land. So off goes Kiera with her pet rock cat named Crigo, who reminds me of a cross between a tiger and a lion, and her ship Max who is part Hal from When Kiera arrives on Orpheus Two she is met by some of the crew working for Dynatec.

They are not happy that she is there because she is a GEP and most of them are Naturals. Also Kiera has an extreme dislike for everything Dynatec. But since she is a professional, she will put her bias aside and do her job to the best of her ability. Their sexual chemistry was sizzling. The brothers are also facing an angry enemy from their planet who is hell bent on revenge. Things certainly get a little hectic, but the Chance brother's together kick major ass and Kayden and Annabelle finally get happy ending.

Now I am so excited for book two in this series, which I believe will be Camden and Hilary's story. That should be very interesting. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review. I am glad I finished it, though. Kaden is an Alien from another planet. He joined his fellow humans along with his brothers over two years ago.

Under His Skin

He spent his first year of life on Earth with the FBI assimilating himself to the ways of the humans. Annabelle is an owner of her Cupcake shop, "Yummy" and loves her job-one day, however, Kaden cant help himself and follows the scent of Vanilla and makes his way to Yummy and Annabelle. There is an instant attraction on both parts, her wanting him and not thinking she is good enough for him, and him wanting her, but knowing he cant, as he is in fact and Alien and its forbidden.

Then, one day, he kisses her, not able to help himself, and his human heart begins to beat, something that signifies him finding his "mate" the one he is to be with forever-can he risk her life for his selfish reasoning of wanting her? This book entertained me. At times, I found is contrived and pedestrian, but I did enjoy the ending.

View all 4 comments. Think a friends to lovers plot but an interplanetary version! I like a good alien story, so the blurb was what interested me. This is the first book in a new series by Stacey "Alien Encounters", it has an ending and can be read as a stand alone. At first I thought it would be sexier, I was expecting more sex scenes though the few ones were very good. Cam is the secondary character I'm most curious about, I'd read his book in a heartbeat! Not that Kaden and Annabelle didn't form a nice couple, but Think a friends to lovers plot but an interplanetary version!

Not that Kaden and Annabelle didn't form a nice couple, but I couldn't find the strength in them to carry a story by themselves. The villain shows up halfway throughout the book and it was written in a very predictable way. I thought it distracted me from the internal conflicts the protagonists were going through.

The Epilogue was particularly fun to end the book, really liked it. This is a story about an alien species living among humans and what happens when a alien fall for a human and she falls back for him. I have seem this genre done many times over in YA books but this is the first time I read a story with adults in it. The story kept me interested and the 3 alien brothers are interesting. Their wanna-be romance is somewhat thwarted by the FBI as human-alien relations are forbidden. But everyone knows that rules are made to be broken. There is a satisfying end to This is a story about an alien species living among humans and what happens when a alien fall for a human and she falls back for him.

There is a satisfying end to this book but it left me wondering about the two brothers and I think that I would like to read about them if the author was to publish their story. And I didn't miss the chance to get the ARC from her new series! The story is about a baker Annabelle who happens to be in love with Kaden. What she doesn't know is that Kaden is an alien who also is hidding in plain view from the humans. As their relationship grows it will be harder to keep away from each other. The story was fast-paced and sweet.

I liked the possibility of creating an even wider world building and I really want to read the rest of I really liked the YA series by Stacey O'Neale! I liked the possibility of creating an even wider world building and I really want to read the rest of the stories of the other brothers! Kaden is quite the character.

The cover does his description justice. Annabelle is sensible, I suppose, up until you realize how attracted she is to Kaden, who is an E. Right from the start, you learn that they both have feelings for each other, more than best friends should. And then things get steamy, like a lot. Also, you get attached to their relationship, and when the road gets bumpy, it hits home.

From the first page to the very end I was hooked. Sexy aliens, strong sassy females, and delicious cupcakes what's not to love! The characters were fun, real and enjoyable to read and root for. The story was paced well and kept me interested the whole way through. I recommend this book for any lovers of sexy aliens and best friend romances. This was more of a 3. Full review and more available at: Unfortunately in most cases it results into nothing more than several hundred pages of fantasy-ridden erotica that does nothing but turn my bookish mind off.

To be completely honest, I'm also not a fan of the alien trope. I know Full review and more available at: I know that sounds weird, because aliens are huge, but they really just aren't my thing. These facts being said, you can imagine I was, understandably, a bit hesitant when I first heard about this story and its' release. Even with the extremely talented mind of Stacey O'Neale behind the wheel, could this pique my interest? Let's hash this out. When Kaden and his brother's home planet is destroyed, they come to Earth, unsure of what they will find.

The government welcomes them with extreme restrictions and they're forced to live out their existence as quietly as possible. With an ever suspecting government agent on their case, Kaden and his brother's must hide their more human exploits from those keeping watch. Among the many things off limits? Explicitly forbidden from mating with a human, what can Kaden do when he falls for his one true love, Annabelle?

The exploits that ensure are both touching and suspenseful. I can assure you've never read an alien novel quite like this one. It was fast paced and a relatively quick read that will leave you wanting more! Like I mentioned before, I don't really care for alien characters. That being said, I really enjoyed the character development and the paranormal aspects that O'Neil threw together in this read. Not only were her aliens captivating, they showed more HUMAN emotion than most characters I read in any book these days.

It was a refreshing find where I wasn't expecting! I also really loved Annabelle's character. She was sweet and more down to earth than I figured she would be. I believe that her introduction to the paranormal setting was both enjoyable and believable! The only character I didn't care too much for was that of Annabelle's friend who will be feature more prominently in future Alien Encounters novels.

She was a fun character, but entirely too in-your-face and nosy for me to really enjoy. I really can't wait to see more from Stacey regarding the other two brothers! So this novel was published through Covet who is known for their more heavily romanced-paranormal romance series. As you guys know, I love the paranormal, but could oftentimes take or leave the romance. In most of these cases there really isn't story enough to keep me interested. I'm so glad that Stacey was able to really take a stand in Under His Skin and provide me with a read that had a full and gripping plot with just the perfect amount of steam to keep it from being too much.

I'm sure there are readers out there who were hoping for more in the romance department, but I loved how it was kept sweet, realistic, and to the point. While Annabelle and Kaden's romance plays a large part into the plot, the paranormal plot is the true beacon here! So while I'll be honest and say that this wasn't my favorite read of Stacey's I'm a huge fan of her Mortal Enchantment series, it's one of my all time favorites , I still really found it enjoyable and to be way more than I was ever expecting. While there was plenty of romance, the paranormal element was written to perfection in true Stacey-form.

A quick, fast-paced, steamy-paranormal adventure, Under His Skin is a breath of fresh air to the paranormal romance genre! This being said, I am granting Under His Skin a well-earned 4-star review. I hear that book two is in the works so this isn't the last of this world that we will be seeing. Be on the lookout for more from Stacey and this series! I think that is what originally caught my attention. I enjoy stories that defy the odds and have characters that capture my attention and keep me interested until the very end. Under His Skin did just that.

Stacey O'Neale took people who had differences and showed that being different is not what matters, it's what is on the inside that makes a person who they are. The heart, mind and soul are the guiding factors. Annabelle was confident in her professional life but unsure in her personal one. Kaden was hesitant in revealing his true feelings because of other things he has been hiding from her. His truths could destroy their relationship completely.

I received an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review. I have not read this genre before but I am impressed with Under His Skin. The story was sexy, romantic and beautifully presented. When she's not writing, she spends her time fangirling over books, blogging, watching fantasy television shows, cheering for the Baltimore Ravens, and hanging out with her husband and daughter. Her career in publishing started as a blogger-turned-publicist for two successful small publishers. Stacey writes young adult paranormal romance and adult science fiction romance. Her books always include swoon-worthy heroes, snarky heroines, and lots of kissing.

Stacey loves hearing from readers. You can also visit her blog at http: Aug 24, S. And when I found out Stacey was coming out with a new book about aliens had me sooooooooooo excited!!!! I immediately signed up for the ARC reviews because I couldn't wait. And it was totally worth it! Annabelle is a sweet, bake-loving human who is in love with Kaden, an alien whose heart doesn't beat. Only, she doesn't know that he is an alien. As a rule set by the government, Kaden and his kind are allowed to stay on Earth in exchange for their technological knowledge. But one day, after two years of living on Earth, Kaden's heart starts beating for Annabelle, his soulmate and the one girl he cannot have: This new development will challenge Kaden and Annabelle in every way.

Can their feelings overcome the threats from both the government and hostile aliens? Or will their love forever be forbidden? I just have to say, this book had me hooked from the very first page! I truly enjoyed reading Stacey's book. He's sexy, handsome, sweet, protective, and just damn drool worthy. The only thing that irritated me a teensy little bit were his back-and-forth thoughts and decisions of whether he should fight for his love for Annabelle, or lose his one chance at a happy ending. Sorry, got too emotional right there I loved the passion and love between Kaden and Annabelle!

It was steamy, passionate, and down right heart warming! The only thing that I wish Stacey could have included more was a few more of those steamy scenes. I think there were only about two throughout the entire novel. It may be just me and my preference, but when I was informed that this was an Adult Paranormal, I thought there would be more intimacy.

But, that's just me. Everyone has their own opinions. Camden and Hayden are smoking HOT! Camden is a total player and man whore, but has a lot of charm going on ; and Hayden is the nerdy and serious brother that leaves every lady sighing and swooning. I mean, come on. A sexy and smart alien guy is drool worthy. It ended too early!! When I got to the last page, I freaked out because I wanted more!! Kaden and Annabelle are my addiction now and even after reading this book a few weeks ago, I'm stilling having a book hangover. Stacey has informed me that there is going to be a second book!

And this time, it's going to be about Camden, the one and only! We'll still see Annabelle and Kaden throughout the series. Overall, Stacey O'Neale has written another fantastic book! Stacey, keep doing what you do because I will always want to read your books. They are amazing and exactly what book lovers need: Under His Skin is both brilliantly captivating and breathlessly passionate in its unrelenting pursuit of devotion and loyalty.

This story buried itself deep within my heart from the very beginning and it only ingrained itself even deeper throughout this amazing journey. I hope with all my heart that we will be seeing more from these outstanding characters in the near future! They are too incredible, too unique, and too intriguing to not bring back for more appearances. Annabelle Sparks is absolutely thrilled to watch her beloved business grow and expand due to her recent win on a TV show.

No matter how many hints she drops, he seems to not understand what she is trying to tell him. There are secrets that Kaden can never tell Annabelle no matter how badly he might want to open up to her completely. More than just his own desires are at stake, so he quietly and painfully watches Annabelle slip through his fingers.

Alien Encounter by Pamela F. Service

I truly loved seeing the beautiful and precious friendship that Annabelle and Kaden share. Seeing how wonderfully sensitive and utterly passionate that Kaden is towards Annabelle filled my heart with a delicate hope that these two could find a way to reach each other. To watch these two really get to know each other and build such a strong and secure foundation was a beautiful sight to behold.

The love and respect for the other far outweighed their desire for more, and that saved them time and time again. I have been in love with her Mortal Enchantment series, but this is something extra special that I have thoroughly enjoyed.

Her Mortal Enchantment series is pretty amazing. So I went into this one with high expectations. She not only met every one of them but this book hit them completely out of the park. The story is told from both characters point of view and boy does that make for some hilarious reading! For the last year, Kaden and Annabelle have been the best of friends. They both want more but that is not in the cards. Kaden has friend zoned Annabelle. Well, technically the US Government has friend zoned her.

Something silly about humans and aliens yeah, he is an alien- from like out of space not getting too involved. He is just following along because he has to protect his family. He is okay with being friend zoned against his and her will. Or at least he was okay with that until someone else tries to make the moves of Annabelle. Then all good intentions get thrown out the window. Annabelle is just well confused. She has no clue that she is friend zone. She knows that she is attracted to Kaden on a non-friend bases. Her bestie Hillary convinces her that she needs to go out on a date.

If Kaden is attracted to her, he will not be happy with this. If not, she will know once and for all that friends is all they will be. That is until someone threatens Annabelle- then he goes straight into protecting his mate mode. Only Annabelle is not his mate. And who is threatening sweet Annabelle? When will the government step in? The banter and chemistry between Kaden and Annabelle is delightful. The reader can tell that there are genuine feelings between the two. That he wants to protect her so very badly is charming, especially when he has to call in back-up due to a misunderstanding.

I really enjoyed this romance with a paranormal twist. The course of true love never runs smooth and the story of Kaden and Annabelle is no exception. It is immediately obvious that Kaden's feelings for his Bella go beyond those of a best friend and that something or someone is stopping him from taking their relationship to the next level. The plot is simple but well executed with good dialogue, passion and plenty of action.

Similarities in the plot and certain character attributes reminded me at times of Roswell the TV-series but this increased my enjoyment rather than detracting from it. True to form the author includes swoon-worthy heroes, a snarky heroine and lots of kissing making it far more erotic than Roswell ever was. Bella and Kaden are adorable, well developed characters. Both characters were easy to emphasise with. I respected Kaden who is frustrated with being the best-friend and longs for more.

Kaden whilst seriously hot is a stranger in a strange land; he is modest and well adjusted but occasionally gets it wrong and the resulting misunderstanding add a nice touch of humour to the plot. Stacey is a really good storyteller. Her story is romance first and Sci-Fi second, with the emphasis on finding a soul mate. Any alien details are on a need to know basis and relevant to supporting the storyline.

It is also the first book in a new series. With sparks flying between Hilary and Kaden's younger brother Cam, my money is on them getting more attention in book 2. There aren't enough stars for this one. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Stacey writes young adult fantasy and adult science fiction romance.

She needed a man who could put his arms around her and make her feel safe. I have no right to think of her as mine. His heart pulsed a second time, and he startled.

Annabelle couldn't be his? It had to mean something. That was until he met Annabelle. His memory lingered back to the day he stepped into her bakery.
