It abruptly stops, practically in the middle of a sentence, and you don't get to find out the ending!

Mar 22, Caroline rated it really liked it. Really loved this one. I liked how both characters realize things about each other while hanging out together, and while somehow this was advertized as a romance novel it isn't quite, unless you count unrequited love as romance?

May 16, Becka rated it really liked it Shelves: I didn't really know what to expect from this book and it still led me to some unexpected places. It plays on a lot of the tropes one expects from a YA novel There's a makeover, a school election, coming of age, a move, lots of lies, and some very realistically portrayed adolescent problems.

Smart and highly recommended. Apr 29, Michelle rated it liked it Shelves: This was a cute book. I liked how each chapter told the story from either Josh or Becky's point of view. The ending seemed to just wrap everything up in a nice little bow so it was a little unrealistic, but it was still an enjoyable read.

I felt cheated at first.. I had to read the revelation thrice just to make sure that it's not the stress taking over.

President Jock, Vice President Geek by Scott William Carter on Apple Books

We need to keep author's that can actually write in business! One person found this helpful. I thought I'd enjoy a fun book but I was disappointed with this story. First of all I couldn't stand the crazy psycho bitch Trish. Then Becky and her infatuation with Josh was just plain sad. To top it off Desmond was so in love with Becky. Also no matter how smart he was there were things he knew, things that were too specific to not realize he was being a little creepy. However I really loved Desmond, he was by far my favorite character.

Josh's situation was very understandable and didn't really bother me much other than there was nothing to clue the reader since every time he pushed Trish away was because she was so psycho.

I thought I'd enjoy it but just fell flat for me. Here's what I liked: The characters weren't the same canned, 2D characters that you find in a lot of YA romance. Yes, there's stereotypes but then the characters don't really fit the mold perfectly -just like in real life. The sexual orientation twist will have some readers uncomfortable but I felt the author handled the divisive topic with tact. Without giving away any spoilers The ending is worded in a way that makes me wonder if there's a sequel but it's not spelled out clearly.

There's closure -kind of -but not really. It doesn't take away from the story, it just makes me want to keep reading to find out for sure that what I think will happen, happens. I am a little old to be reading YA books, but I have found I really enjoy the paranormal ones. I thought I would give this book a try, even without the paranormal spin and I am so glad I did.

This book was refreshingly different.

I loved the characters and the male lead's "secret" really pleased me. It was nice to read a book that portrayed this particular situation in such a positive, yet realistic, manner.
