Wondering what is happening in the world and why? This is the second book and many have said it is even more fast paced and eye-opening than the first! Aug 30, Simone Z. Revelation is the path of human enlightenment This spiritual thriller is by no means a light read.

It is complex and multi-layered. A reader must expect to be challenged all the way, for despite the fictional setting, the algorithm is to to discover the meaning of life. It challenges the intellect as well as institutional spiritual beliefs. The title of this trilogy carries a double-entendre. The concept is about waking the individual God in each one of us as well as in humanity at large. This is the second book in the " Waking God " trilogy. Here, one of the secondary characters, Nilaihah, the remaining Watcher, emerges as quite a character, and I found the fantastical battle on horseback that ensues half way through Book 2, as particularly enthralling.

The fantasy genre is not my usual read, but I can vouch that this part of the story would have made any fantasy author green with envy. Without evil or its conventional definition there can be no good. And without the existence of both, there can have been no balance, and hence, no life — an interesting theory that I have often debated with myself.

Ranged on the looming battle's other side are Mantrella, Bringer of Light, and those who follow him. Meanwhile, Earth itself convulses as its inhabitants endure the plagues of Revelation. Will those who can stop Michael act in time? And even if they do, will they prevail? Many readers have commented that the series has many levels of meaning. Our response has often been that in order to understand what we are saying, the reader must read between the lines. By this we mean that the real story and meaning flow not from just the written word, but also from the inner spirit that guides us all to greater levels of awareness.

When you finish this book, ask yourself the following questions: We have presented a story where all notions of good and evil are turned onto their heads. Here's when Lucifer harangues an Archangel: You build them mighty temples and give with one hand and slaughter with the other. You have kept them separate and ignorant and give just enough to raise empty hopes. You destroy their prophets and burn their seers.

Which is the real evil? What is the real truth? The real power-struggle depicted in the story is between Mantrella the personification of Lucifer, The Devil and Archangel Michael the representative of God, and hence the force of good. Man is just a pawn in their celestial game-play.

In this novel, the pawns are Andrew, the religion professor, and Mara. They are the chosen ones, picked to give birth to Adam and Eve with the aim of the proliferation of mankind. But Mantrella and Michael each have a spin on how they want mankind to flourish. Mantrella, by giving man the freedom to learn the truth about life for himself without the binding chains of institutional dogma; Michael, on the other hand, is bent on taking humanity in the opposite direction — indoctrination as defined by established institutions.

In the final analysis, the question the reader is left with is this — there is a duality about both good and evil.

Waking God Book II

Of particular interest to me were the links between biblical texts and the Chakras the energy vortices in the body , together with the ancient wisdom of the esoteric Tarot deck, namely the 22 Major Arcana cards. Symbolically, this consummation of the physical bodies on the earthly plain, to bring forth the new humanity fathered by Adam, is also the consummation of the Sacred Rota, bringing into alignment the physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions as one whole ever-revolving cycle that makes human life. Here all those with a vested interest in the birth of Adam — or its prevention thereof — converge and come round full circle.

Archangel Michael wants him dead while Mantrella orchestrates a strong defence plan that culminates in Jerusalem — the chosen venue for the grand birth. The authors save the biggest surprise for last. Oh, no, nothing so simple in Waking God. The readers are given a choice of three endings, and are at liberty to choose their own — as they would wish their own world to be in the future. I, for one, being a realist with a penchant for a happy but realistic end, opt for the first.

I thought it most generous of the authors to give the reader that choice.
