Then when I sat down to read my book I was disappointed to discover it was a collection of "blessings" from false gods. While the book is a collection of historical prayers, it is not based on Christianity. Some of the prayers include: My intent in buying the book was to find a collection of Christian prayers for meals.
This was not the case so I am returning the book I purchased.

I'm not sure why it was categorized as "Christianity. The prayers were boring, long, and did not make any sense! A lot of the items are not really graces, like "Grub first, then ethics. The more traditional graces I enjoyed. If you are looking for a book that will help you say grace in front of a group of people this is not it. Most of these are not appropriate and will probably make people laugh at you.
One person found this helpful. My family always said grace growing up. As my husband and I are not religious, I missed the habit with our two very young children. We have now made a ritual of asking our older child to select the grace for the evening while we get dinner ready.

The pictures make it easy to include a pre-reader in your dinner ritual. I was disappointed in this book because it did not really offer any new ideas saying Grace, especially for me as a single person without a family to use these prayers with.

I purchased this to come up with new ideas for grace at the GFWC ladies club that I belong to and was not disappointed. We are really enjoying this book.
