That's not meant to be a criticism - Hachtel writes her steamy scenes with care, and builds the tension between her lovers beautifully. It's the classic story of a woman who decides to seduce a man, only this woman has the added ability to visit her target in his sleep.

The twist makes for an interesting courtship, and lends the story some uniqueness. Some of Hachtel's major plot points, however, are written too quickly, and lose their impact. Unfortunately, these tend to be moments where the villain should be developed, or when the reader should be held in at least some suspense as to whether the protagonists will find a way out of their predicament.

And the humor is terrific! What a unique and interesting story! I love the characters, the romance, and the historical setting. The "dream dancing" element was truly different and fascinating to read. I finished the book in one setting because I just couldn't put it down. I'll definitely be reading more by this author! This is the first book I've read by Leslie Hachtel and I very much enjoyed it!

It's based in England in the 's where Lady Bryce has discovered that she is able to enter other people's dreams to influence them. What an extraordinary concept! She has used this trait to scare away potential husbands her father has picked out for her, as she had no love or desire for these typically older men.

Then along comes Lord Rowland, who immediately catches Lady Bryce's eye! She has feelings towards him that she has never had for another man before. Should she use her dream dancing abilities on him? This love story has many twists and turns and kept me wanting more the whole way through! The Dream Dancer is one of many books of Hachtel's that I have read and it is as good as the rest!

The Dream Dancer by Kenneth Crowe

Based outside of London in the Hachtel spins a story of love and hate and the trials and tribulations it takes to find true love. An unmarried Bryce has been suited for many men by her father but has a gift that sends all of the suitors on their way. Bryce's true desire is to find true love. As Bryce and her friends are walking through the market she lands her eyes on Rowland, a lady's man that is not ready to settle down but will do anything to land in Bryce's bed. Rowland pursues Bryce with a kiss that will change her life forever and a marriage proposal to seal his fate in her bed.

Being the lady that Bryce is she will not bed a man without being married first. Rowland is frustrated that he can not bed Bryce as he has bed many other women and leaves for court leaving Bryce behind. Taking Rowland for his word Bryce follows Rowland to court with her father in tow. A very prideful Rowland cannot believe Bryce took him for his word with his marriage proposal as he was just trying to bed her like he has many other women.

Knowing Rowland's resistance Bryce uses her gift of dancing in Rowland's dreams to show him the life he could have with her. Finally Bryce has Rowland where she wants him only to find many other twists and turns before they can truly be happy together. This story kept me wanting more the whole way through! I had to know Are Bryce and Rowland going to be together in the end?

Who has trapped Bryce and her friend? Did her friend really poison her husband? Who is this other lady in Rowland's life? Just when I thought the story was coming to an end Hatchel would throw in a twist that made the plot even better! I really enjoyed this read and suggest you read it as well!
