Perhaps this is just the way we all form the characters in our own mind though? I think the series is good and that it is the sort of series that is suitable for the young teen audience, however if they wanted to spike this up for the young adult audience it would need a little work on it, such as a little more depth and detail to really have you pulled into a whole new world. I do like the series though and will be completeing it with Betrayal and I would recommened it to anyone who wants a quick and easy read. Sep 25, Amy rated it liked it. Everything seems to be going great for Eve and Jess.

It's March and their enjoying a mysterious heatwave and gossiping about boys. But when people start to fall ill with a tropical disease that causes pieces of flesh to fall of the victims skin they know that this is no normal disease. When Luke's father falls sick they are determind to find the cause. Amunnic, a blood sucking demon followed a school teacher home from Egypt and is causing havoc in the town and it's Eve's job to track him down Fever was an interesting instalment as Eve, Jess and Luke aren't dealing with the usual supernatural threat. This story was as page turning as ever and I loved seeing Eve and Luke be shy around each other.

Jess decides to learn how to defend herself which was great! There wasn't as much talk about fashion which was enduring, I liked seeing everyone grow as characters. Amunnic wasn't as scary in the finale as I imagined and there wasn't as much action throughout the book compared to what I was expecting but overall this was a good read. Such a weak book. Much worse than the first two. Read's like a first draft, plot holes, grammar mistakes and under developed characters. I will not be reading another one of her books. Feb 18, Haya rated it really liked it Recommends it for: Luckily Eve and Jess are both healthy so they're taking their chance to enjoy the unseasonal heat wave. But then teenagers start to disappear.

The spread of the disease worsens and the town is placed under lockdown. It could be anybody. And now there's nowhere to go This book gave me goosebumps, honest. Meredith really stepped up as a writer, and I felt like she needed some sort of world-wide recog Deepdene has been swept by what seems to be a vicious tropical disease. Meredith really stepped up as a writer, and I felt like she needed some sort of world-wide recognition I may say that, but I must be honest: Rowling is the best of the best.

What I'm trying to say is, Fever is the best she's written so far, and I hope she doesn't mess up with the fourth book, like so many author have done with their own. A potentially good series like this would be a flat-out disappointment if it were messed up. I love this series and this is the second book I've read from that series. I loved this book more than the other.

It's always fun to learn about the characters backgrounds and to know more about previous characters. Feb 20, Louise rated it liked it Shelves: Oct 17, Joanne rated it did not like it Shelves: I now understand why this was in the library book sale. Please, if you have half a brain, or even a single working brain cell, do not read this because it is torture. DNF at 4th chapter because I decided my life has more worth than sitting reading this. Jul 23, Joey Dean Wrench rated it it was amazing Shelves: Love the fact that Meredith keeps coming up with different ways for the demons to behave - stops the series getting tedious.

Now on to the next one. Oct 16, Lyndsey O'Halloran rated it really liked it Shelves: When I first started this series, I hated it with a passion. Seeing as I got the second book for review, I was persuaded to give it a chance and I am bloody glad I did now. The second book was so much better than the first and now the third book was even better! Eve and Jess have come a long way as characters. In the beginning, all I could see were shallow, spoiled, rich girls but not anymore. Yes, some of those aspects are still there but it is not nearly as in your face as it was in the first b When I first started this series, I hated it with a passion.

Yes, some of those aspects are still there but it is not nearly as in your face as it was in the first book and now, I kind of like this about them both. Their obsession with clothes, shoes and accessories annoyed me to be begin with but now it is quite funny because of Luke being around a lot and getting annoyed with the girls. Eve has probably come the furthest though, finding out she is the Deepdene Witch and having to kill demons.

The new, non demon kid in town has finally settled in and made some great friends in Eve and Jess. He still has a bit of a reputation as a player but I like the cheeky side to him, even though he has feelings for Eve. I really wish that Luke would get to some more ass kicking than he does though, considering the huge sword he has but instead, he seems to get stuck with doing most of the research. Something has been building up between Luke and Eve since the first book and I was sooooo happy to see this finally go somewhere this time around.

Ok, it was exactly what I wanted but at least it was better than nothing at all.

Fever had a quicker pace than the previous two books in the series and this was something that I really liked. Because of the nature of the flu epidemic, people were dropping like flies and I think this is why the pace was so fast. Just as one person would get the illness, another would, and then another. All the time, someone new was getting sick and it was getting to the point where I was wondering how many people would be left before Eve, Jess and Luke figured something out. The story, although not quite as exciting as book 2, was still exciting enough to keep me reading.

I wanted to know who the demon was this time and how it was going to be stopped. I wanted to know what was going on with Eve and Luke and I wanted to know some stuff about Jess but if I tell you what it was, I might spoil some things. Fever is a great third book in the series and I just hope future books keep getting better, as this one did.

It is quite a short and easy read but one that is thoroughly entertaining. What more could you ask for? Wow, I have to thank Amy Meredith again for this great book, I loved it, and the 2 before this. Eve being the Deepdene witch when a demon turns up it is up to her to destroy Wow, I have to thank Amy Meredith again for this great book, I loved it, and the 2 before this. Eve being the Deepdene witch when a demon turns up it is up to her to destroy it.

But at the beginning she just wants to enjoy the heat with her best mate Jess. Eve's character is strong, bold, brave and also a shopoholic. Jess feels as if she need to learn something to help put the 3 of them, because she feels that she is the only one who can't do anything, Luke has the sword, and Eve is a witch, but Jess is brave as well and what would we do without her. Luke is the hot guy who just can't admit his feelings to Eve what annoyed me.

He has the sword to help but is not much use for what happens with the demon. Luke is also brave and an amazing character and without him the book would not be the book. Everything what happened in Deepdene is linked to what happened in the prologue. So make sure you read the Prologue and i know when i was young i missed them out thinking they are pointless. Eve and Luke both like each other allot and you could tell this from the very moment they laid eyes on each other but they both think its just friendship and all through all 3 books I was saying just kiss, be with each other.

Overall i loved this book and recommend you read it if you have read the first 2. There is a 4th one called Betrayal coming out and i just can't wait. When a vicious tropical plague sweeps Deepdene , Eve and her friends Jess and Luke just try to bask in the abnormal heat and do what they can to avoid getting the disease themselves.

They suspect their teacher, Mr Dokey , brought it back with him from a recent trip to Egypt — but also begin to suspect that he brought something more sinister along with it. The plague worsens, the town is shut off and now with a shape-shifting demon on their tail, the trio probably have a lot more than they bargained for. Eve getting used to her powers also helps this. I quite liked that this plot almost had two strands to it: However, I felt like it was concluded far too quickly, and although there was a neat cliff-hanger, it came too quickly as well.

Dark Touch: Fever by Amy Meredith

Overall, however, I quite enjoyed the 3rd book in the series, far more than the other two thus far. Sep 19, Erika rated it it was ok. This is the third installment to the dark touch series. As the series progresses it gets better and better. It is about time Eve and Luke are getting some chemistry happening. There is a demon in town and where demons lay so do deaths There is a fever, plague that is threatening the many lifes of citizens of Deepedene.

Can Eve stop the spread before it is too late?

Will she lose someone close to her in the process? Okay i still am not a huge fan of the series, although it was a huge improveme This is the third installment to the dark touch series. Okay i still am not a huge fan of the series, although it was a huge improvement. I think the writing is lacking bringing a weaker story on board. But in saying that, I reckon this is the best book in the series so far. This one was a free one that I purchased with a voucher, anything I have I don't like to leave around unread so i read it and gave it a try.

It did have some sort of cliff hanger, not a strong and captivating one. I don't know if i will read the next one in the series, 'Betrayal'. It is one of those things where if i have nothing to read, which is highly unlikely! Maybe I'll just read it through the library Anyway its not a bad little read.

I recommend this to children to young adults. Oct 01, Sara rated it did not like it. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I found it Okay at the start. It all seemed reasonable good after the first two books, but this was a disastrous. The story felt like a paper falling flat down.
