Perhaps I didn't read enough of the reviews or the books description well enough I was expecting more of the current day 90's and beyond stories of players that I know and love. It's not that I mind learning about a pitcher from the 's, but that was not what I thought this book would be. One person found this helpful. Lew Freedman is no Roger Kahn or David Halberstam, serious baseball writers who apply their considerable intellects and writing skills to produce the definitive volumes of their subject matter.
