At the interview Noah knows there is no way in hell he will ever hire the stripper as his assistant. When Ellie starts work the next day, she turns out to be a God send. She is smart, brash, funny, hard working. In fact, I can't reread his story because it is too angsty for me. Paul deserves more than a H. He does prevail and I loved the secondary story with them. This one's about Noah Kincaid, a reluctant Presbyterian minister and Ellie Baldwin, a voluptuous, sexy dresser think Erin Brockovich who applies for the job of pastoral assistant for tiny Virgin River's old church, undergoing refurbishment. Noah was encouraged to go to divinity school by his old friend and mentor. Meanwhile, he's made a living working on the Seattle docks. But being a minister was the furthest thing from Noah's mind-his father was a well-known television evangelist in the Midwest where his autocratic, hypocritical ways estranged Noah.

However, retired minister George Davenport sees Noah's potential and encourages the man. Now, Noah takes a mighty leap of faith and bids on Virgin River's dilapidated old church which has been put up on eBay. The church needs everything, much more than Noah can do on his own, even though an inheritance from his mother will provide the necessities. Noah needs help, and it comes in a nicely rounded package named Ellie Baldwin. Ellie, a former stripper, has lost custody of her two children to her ex-husband and needs a respectable position so she can get them back.

Her candor, willingness to do the dirtiest of jobs, and plight have Noah taking a chance on her, even though she's much too appealing for his comfort. But Ellie is sharp and a hard worker, and soon has Noah wondering how he managed without her.

A growing attraction blossoms, and he wants to help Ellie regain custody of her daughter and son. He wants other things as well, but he must win over the wary young woman who has made poor choices in her life. This is a delightful story of two engaging characters you want to root for. Secondary characters are re-introduced and the chemistry works so wonderfully you'll want to pack your bags and move to Virgin River if only it existed!

A beautiful wedding occurs I won't reveal whose that is so touching. Pick up a copy of Forbidden Falls today. The Virgin River series is well written and the characters are believable and very human. I am pleased to know that there are many additional books in this series. The characters all tie in together, and are delightfully portrayed, so much so that they've become "friends" of mine. The series takes place in Northern California and I am very familiar with that area. It's like going home.

    8. This story brought in New people to Virgin River. Noah has purchased the old church on EBay and has come to refurbish it and open it. Ellie is a single mother of two children.

    She has answered an ad for a pastor assistant to get a good respectable job, as her children were given for custody to her ex-husband even though he is not their father. He is a mean man and when she divorced him he swore he would get back at her, doing so through her children. Things begin happening and soon the town is involved and, of course, back up Ellie. There is a lot of side dramas going on too.

    Another great story to read. Now on to the next one. I am a reader of thrillers the more gruesome the better and would never attempt a book of this nature. I also own a second hand book shop and have my choice of over books to read The 2nd Virgin River book came in, I started to browse it and I was hooked. I bought the rest of the series for my iPad and I'm up to Robyn Carr is amazing, you feel an affinity with all her characters. It's like you are in the middle of an ever expanding family.

    The books are very modern but without having to resort to the modern trend of swearing and violence. This book was just as good as the rest and I'm dreading getting to no. Note it is nice but not necessary to read in order. This was such a fun story to read with Ellie"s spunkiness you couldn't help but laugh and cry. Noah was a Wonderful character and saw so much in Ellie and her struggles in live, but her children were her love and priority. You see Ellie's life finally turning hard and getting the happiness bcc she and her children deserve. Every community needs a preacher and we get one in this story.

    He loves God but he is also very down to earth and human. When a brassy blond applies a job in the church he is having second thoughts. This was another good story. It was fun to read about what a preacher thinks about when he is confronted with a sexy female. It was a fun read and I really enjoyed it. Love all the books in this series.
