Having moved away from everything that she has known, this young woman is determined to have a future in this different sort of town. Sawyer has done it again, interloping a modern society in the less popular Amish society.

Just because someone might not understand them, that does not give reason to not get to know them. In "Beginnings," many individuals can relate to the feelings and emotions are displayed within this novel. I recommend this series for they are very relatable. The first book focused on Marie and Henry reuniting and Marie reconnecting with her faith and family.

This second book of the trilogy is about Marie's daughter Beth finding her own identity is a small town of mostly Mennonite people including her family and now her mother and all her friends. Beth is a stained glass artist with a brand new studio to create in and has hired Andrew, Henry's nephew to assist her. Andrew and Beth share the same dream to become successful artists. Andrew struggles with his responsibilities to his dad and the family farm, but wanting to be an artist fulltime and the feelings he has for Beth that he tries to keep hidden.

Beth has been lucky with her art placed in a showroom and then later contacted to make large windows for churches that will put her in reach of her dream. Andrew has been right a long side of Beth to help her and she and him spend a lot of late evenings together and going out for lunch and dinner, but she struggles with where she fits into this community and her mother's family. As Beth works on her windows for the churches she begins to get close to Sean, the man contracting her work, but trying to maintain a professional relationship.

Beth is newly tuned into God and his will and she tries to please Him and her family trying to determine if the Mennonite life could work for her or where she belongs if it doesn't. Beth is trying hard to get her priorities in place even if it means she can't meet the strict deadlines of her project and losing the contract so she can put God and family first. The book is really good, however I gave it four stars, only because I was disappointed with the direction Beth went with her love choice.

Living in a community that is so different than she ever knew she feels a separation from everyone else.

Even though the community helps her she believes it is only because her mother has married into the community. Beth has many walls built for her own protection. What does it take to allow her to feel accepted. I enjoyed reading book 2 in the series. This was a very enjoyable and uplifting book to read. I felt I got to know the characters and the location and it drew me in until I felt I was experiencing the story along with them. I highly recommend if you enjoy good, clean and uplifting books! This being the second book of this series was just as enjoyable as the first. The relationships grew along with the character's faith.

Looking forward to the next book. Another great book by Kim Vogel Sawyer. I enjoyed reading book number two in this series.
