Feb 10, Donna Mccoy rated it it was ok. This is probably the least enjoyable of the Vigilante series of books. Seems to be a rehash of the same theme as the previous ones but with a different type of victim. I would recommend skipping this one. Apr 07, Cari Foulk rated it it was amazing. McCall and Berry are back in this fourth installment by Claude Bouchard. This series is ridiculously good. Plan on staying up late, you won't be able to put it down. Nov 23, Mary rated it really liked it. This was another wonderful installment in the Vigilante Series.

There is nothing like the good guys getting some justice. This 4th book in the series had somewhat of a playful tone to it- if you read it, you will know what I mean as I don't want to spoil it for anyone. It was just a little gem of playfulness of Chris and Jon in the middle of this thriller. There are really 2 murder mysteries to solve This was another wonderful installment in the Vigilante Series. There are really 2 murder mysteries to solve in this book. One is that an official had been run down in a hit-and-run. The other is that there is someone killing off the homeless in the city and taunting Dave as they are doing it.

Dave has no idea how to get to the killer until Chris and Jon offer their assistance. So many things go on and there are a lot of things to keep track of, I had no idea who the killer would turn out to be, which is always a trick because I read a lot of these types of books and it is easy for me to see the formula. If you are a fan of the other books, you will love this one.

If you haven't read the others, you could pick this one up and read it without problem- but you will probably want to read them all anyway. This is a great series by a great author. I am off to read 5! I probably liked this one the least of all in this series so far.

The Vigilante Series Books 1 to 6

It seemed to have had maybe a different editor as well as there were more mistakes, too. It has got more "French" and whilst I appreciate it's probably Mr Bouchard's first language and it IS set in Canada, it isn't mine and he's not written the first three like this.

  1. Aidens Game: A Casino Boss Love Story.
  2. Rachel Reborn.
  3. .
  4. Stalina;
  5. Advanced Space Propulsion Systems;
  6. Making money with online auctions!
  7. I hope he reverts back to more English names and places in the next story. On page 5 the killer's name changed from Alan to Allan for starters which didn't bode well.

    See a Problem?

    Another BIG aggravation in this one were the amount of dropped speechmarks!! There are a LOT! A few missing capital letters also in words like French or Gmail. I also noticed a few dropped commas as well. I had no idea what on earth an SAQ was and had to Google it. Succumbs is not spelt succombs. A few times words seemed to be lost in translation as well which again, I've not noticed being a problem in the first 3 stories.

    He used the word pursued wrong a couple of times along with verified and foreseen. They just weren't the right words to have chosen in each instance. I am still liking Chris very much, our main "hero" of the books. However, if I'd started with this one as opposed to others in the series I'd probably not have bothered with anymore. Feb 01, Sabrina rated it it was amazing. Someone is secretly tracking down and ruthlessly murdering the homeless and McCall is left scrambling to grab any clues he can. With a political accident and mysterious characters popping up, the work becomes more and more intense.

    With hope of finding the killer fading, who better to become one of the homeless? Why, the Vigilante himself, Chris Barry. Can a trap be set for this killer? And how many people will die before the trap can be sprung? A wonderfully entertaining read that leaves the reader guessing until the last page.

    Another book in Mr. Bouchard's 'Vigilante' series that does not disappoint. Very well written with details, descriptions, and humor to be the reader engrossed in the story.

    I really liked it! Jul 26, Jeff Benham rated it it was amazing. Did you ever find some money in your wallet, you forgot was even there, or a cold beer in the refrigerator when you were sure you were out? I have read all of the excellent Vigilante series and was sure I would have to wait for the next one to be released. Someway, somehow, this one was missing from the collection.

    Like a kid finding another Birthday present under all the wrappings. So this doesn't tell you anything about the book, but you can read the description and the 5 star rating ought to Did you ever find some money in your wallet, you forgot was even there, or a cold beer in the refrigerator when you were sure you were out?

    So this doesn't tell you anything about the book, but you can read the description and the 5 star rating ought to give you a clue how good it is. May 20, Marco Morissette rated it really liked it Shelves: It was good but not his best! I read it an enjoy it but it was not as captivating as the three previous one! Missing a lot of actions and I was able to find the bad guy almost at the beginning!

    Hope it was just a false little move in the vigilante series and will be reading the next one in a near future! Thanks to the author and keep it up! Jan 14, Peggy Holloway rated it it was amazing. Once again Claude has written an astounding book. I love the characters that he takes from book to book beginning with the Vigilante. This book had a very surprising ending. I was beginning to suspect it near the end but it didn't take anything away from my enjoyment.

    The book was well written and moved along at a good pace. The characters were well developed. Can't wait to read the next one. Apr 13, Paul Penney rated it it was ok. The first 2 in this series were great reads, so I bought the 3rd and this one, The Homeless Killer. Haven't you ever read or heard of some despicable act of violence and secretly wished you could have the opportunity to make the predator pay?
